Hi guys, I just setup this site following a few tutorials on udemy. It said to find 5 or 6 products that match certain criteria and the overall theme of your store/niche. I've got the products and the niche down. I need to know where to go from here. I know the site isn't pretty, but I don't want to just make a pretty site, I want to sell. Please take a look and let me know what's missing, what steps would you take to get your first sale with this site. Thanks everyone!

A little more info: I want this site to appeal to people(mainly women?) who've just moved into a new house or apartment and are looking to make it feel like home and match their sense of style. Does this come across? What would you expect to see on a site that successfully made this kind of appeal?

Hi @jcarter2023 ,

This is Kate from PageFly - Shopify Landing Page Builder App.

Congratulations on your new store. As a CRO expert at PageFly and also a woman, I have just some small suggestions for a better chance of gaining sales. May it help!

1. Build the merchant's trustworthiness in your website on:

  • Browser: Merchants can recognize your store easier when they surf on the browser and might remember a favicon on the browser. If you don't know how to create a favicon, please take a look at the Shopify guide  here: https://help.shopify.com/en/manual/online-store/images/add-favicon
  • Header and Hero Banner: Making a sticky header is always the best choice. Your header and first hero banner should show almost the things to attract visitors. Let's get consumers to know exactly what you're having in 5 seconds first. You should shorten your header. The logo image is too big when your menu/image is poor information:

  • Footer: Having Delivery/Returns policies on your Footer, any warranty or guarantee information, can reassure them that the site is trustworthy. A free or clear delivery policy can positively influence the user's purchasing decision.
  • Testimonials or Social Proof: These are vital elements when a person goes shopping online. They are proof of your product quality. You can show rating stars for each product or you can add customer reviews as text and photos.

2. Improve your own content and variants

  • Your product images: When I took a look at your product images, I found it's quite blurry, especially when I click to zoom it in. You should consider checking it and improving the image's quality.
  • The font-size and line-height: Same image above, you can see the unbalanced between your Product title with all the descriptions below. The white space among lines is bigger than the text. You should display them in a ratio, not too big (line height should be from 1.2 to 1.5 times of font-size)
  • Product variants: On this product, I found many variants on images, but there is no choice on the Product variants. Is it a bug? Please check again and add it if you can. If it's out of stock, it should be had "Add to wishlist" function there.

3. Prepare for holiday, and marketing campaigns

Last but not least, there are so many upcoming holidays from now till the end of the year. You should consider planning and building a landing page for the sale seasons. It might include dedicated gift guide sections, crafting exclusive offers and discounts...

I hope this will be helpful to you. In case you have any questions or comments, feel free to let me know.
Good luck and have a nice day! Cheers!

Please let me know if it works by giving it a Like or marking it as a solution!

Hi, @jcarter2023

Thanks for posting to the Community!

First off, I love that you don't want to just make a pretty store, but want to sell! This shows you have the needed determination. That being said, you do want your store to look as beautiful and unique as possible in order to display to your customers that time and effort was put into the design and branding. Take your time creating a logo, choosing colors, and play with fonts! I recommend checking out blog about branding basics here.

Touching on what @PageFly-Kate provided, which was GREAT feedback, its important to build out your footer. You want to make sure you have lots of information about your brand from shipping times, returns, refunds, policies, etc. This builds trust. Without these sections your business doesn't appear trustworthy to your potential customers.

I also see you don't have an 'About Us' section. This is extremely important to building a brand and being successful. Your customers want to know who they're buying from and why they should buy from them.

Next, I recommend adding at least two more products. Currently when I head to your store I see a row of 4 and a row of 2. It would look much cleaner to have two rows of 4.

Lastly, make sure your product images are the same dimensions. As you can see from the screenshot below you have 4 images and 3 different image sizes. These small changes make a world of difference in the professionalism of your store.
