We recently launched our new makeup line and store: sudsorganic.com. We are selling organic, vegan, cruelty-free makeup and skincare.
We plan to add additional items soon such as soaps and additional makeup products like mascara.
Our initial launch was around December 1st and have put a little money into Facebook/Instagram and Pinterest marketing and are seeing around 400-500 unique visitors per day, however our conversion rate is only 0.16%.
I thought the website was beautiful and engaging, however we cannot seem to get any sales. I have ran a promotion for Free Eyeshadow on orders of $75 or more and got lots of traffic but 0 sales.
What am I doing wrong?
Hello @fallenranger88, I hope you are doing well! Your store looks wonderful. Here are some suggestions:
- Add reviews on the homepage. It helps in building trust with other visitors.
- Improvise the product descriptions:
- Make sure to enable automatic workflow emails/push for abandoned cart, win back old customers, welcome email, purchase follow-up, or browse abandoned customers.
- Add exit-intent popup. Track when someone is about to leave your website and show the visitor exit-intent popup with attractive offers and coupon code to complete the purchase.
- Add a referral program, it helps in increasing sales and creates brand awareness. You can ask your customers to refer a product to their friends and family. When the product is referred by some known, people tend to purchase the product. The referral program helps in increasing sales. You can give a reward for referring the product.
If you would like to implement the above features/ customer engagement or marketing tools in your store. I would recommend you to install the all in one Shopify app AiTrillion. I am sure you will find it useful.
Hope this Helps!
Hi @fallenranger88 ,
Here is Bruno from Suproof. Congratulations launching your store online. It indeed looks very beautiful!
A few things I can suggest:
1- As for the ads, have you checked if the audience set is the correct one for your product?
2- Have you considered running advertisement through social media influencers?
3- Is the drop happening at the product page? I suggest taking a look at Suproof. It would let you or your customers create photo/image/text based stories for your products. This will help customers make up their mind about buying your product. Best of all, it's free!
I hope this helps you.
This is PageFly. I would love to provide my recommendations for your store base on my CRO and Design experiences.
Your store looks great and professional. There are 4 good things about your store that many stores don't have:
However, there are some spots that I want to feedback to you
1. Home page
1.1 Consider adding ATC buttons on each product
Have ATC buttons for each product will help customers can take action without going to the corresponding product page. They can add these products directly while they can continue to see other products.
1.2 Add testimonials
People love proof, especially when they visit a store and see many good reviews, they will be willing to shop! So you should add testimonials/product reviews to your store. They can be placed for each product or even a review collection on your home page. Check this guide to know more about its benefit and how to make it effective.
1.3 Add social media
You should make use of what you did on Facebook and Instagram. You can consider adding your store's social such as Instagram, etc with images. This is a good way to connect you better with your customers and keep them updating. I recommend you should add social media account with images, for example, Facebook or Instagram feed.
1.4 Add a video
It cannot be denied that your store looks professional, but it seems to be too static, you can add a video to show the products of your store. Make it dynamic.
This is a good way to keep customers stay on your home page.
2. Product page
I take this page for example https://sudsorganic.com/collections/scrubs/products/blue-raspberry-1
2.1 Add more 3-5 images from multiple angles
Showing a product from multiple angles helps customers have a full understanding as if they are checking and looking at it in person. Each angle must be unique and show new information about your product, this encourages customers to take action and increase more trust as well.
You also need to show human model images that the model wears the shirt on so customers can have a general view of the product. Only showing the shirt will make customers hard to demonstrate the product.
And add an image that shows the product in context. You can consult my template here
2.2 Add the product quantity
If your customers want to buy more than 1 product, they need to repeat the add to cart action so I recommend you should add this option in the product details.
3. Collection page
I take this page for example https://sudsorganic.com/collections/eyeshadow
3.1 Add a secondary hover image on each product image
I recommend you should add a secondary hover image. By adding secondary hover images on each product image, customers can see a different image of each product and this provides more information as a visual aspect for customers and this also helps them to compare different products in a collection.
3.2 Use the Load more button instead of Pagination
Instead of switching to many pages, go and back, you can replace the pagination with a Load more button. Therefore, customers do not have to change too many pages to see all products, they can press the Load more button to see all products on 1 page. This helps customers easily compare many products and see the wide range of your collection.
What helps you to build your store more easily is a page builder. It would be a good choice for you to have attractive and powerful pages quickly and you will have lots more time focusing on marketing strategies, so you can consider checking PageFly.
Above are my recommendations for your store and it's really important to customize attractive and unique pages to increase conversion rate.
If you feel my answer helpful, like it or give it a thumb up. Let me know if you have any questions. Cheers!
