Feedback for your online store from the community
Hello! My name is Veronika and my business partner's name is Vanessa - we are a company that launched officially in June 2023 and we offer sex positive education, women centered products, and general support for women on their sexual wellness journey. We have a focus on aiding those with chronic and mental illnesses, physical impairments, and those with histories of sexual and religious trauma.
Our website is: https://findyouroface.com/ and our social accounts (mostly active on TikTok & Instagram) can be found by searching: @findyouroface
We would LOVE feedback on our store! We have had only three sales so far, although we have had several hundred site visitors per month (probably lots of bots as we are constantly bombarded with "Website Expert" emails), but very very very low conversions. I believe we are close to 30 abandoned carts now and we have most of our traffic visiting on mobile devices, so I'm wondering if there is something wrong with our mobile view/checkout process?? We haven't seen evidence of this on our side except for the abandoned checkouts and low conversions. 🤷♀️
We have done some ad spend on social media, but haven't gone to Google Ads yet. We are very active on our social media accounts, posting between 4-10 times per week and we aim for 2 blog posts per month. We are also in the process of researching starting a podcast and are working on a video/documentary project as well.
We are primarily interested in making the sex education part of our business the main focus, but we need the storefront to operate well to fund our projects and ideally quit our day jobs so we can focus on this business with our full attention and dedication. That said - we need to understand where to spend our time and efforts that we are able to give at the moment because we are spreading ourselves very thin trying to do social media, blogs, our own website design and operations, podcast, video work, and content creation.
We are open to any and all feedback. There are no NSFW images or content except for products, but none are explicit or phallic, etc.
I'm not sure what could help with the abandoned checkouts, but about the store in general, I wasn't able to click to add the products in the homepage. And, in the homepage, I think usually it's more sales-effective if the products are quicker to appear, I had to scroll a bit before seeing one. I think I would do cta banner > carousel of/featured products > about section > collections section. Or reverse the position of the last two
Thank you for this feedback! It's super helpful!!
I agree with this feedback about some of the products being accessible a bit "faster" from the main page, even if it's just 3 products. The site UX is great! And the branding team needs an award. It's just right and really "hits the spot" 😜
The only technical change I would make to the user experience is that the size of the dropdown category titles under your main tabs is quite small, should be 30-50% larger than it is now, but not as large as the main tab.
I absolutely LOVE your site and as an #Exvangelical myself I want to see you succeed and thrive! Have much more feedback, but don't want to post publicly here...can I just send it using your contact form maybe?
Thank you so much for your valuable feedback!! We will be following up more by email soon.
Hi, @OFace !
Thanks so much for reaching out about this.
I took a look at your website and truly find it impressive! Your branding, homepage layout and mission in general is fabulous - well done!
I've looked into your website on both desktop and mobile. I'd be more than happy to discuss how things could be improved.
Desktop
I found it rather difficult to point out much on the desktop version of your website that needs improvement. Visually, it is captivating and has really great sections on the homepage. The only notes are the following:
Mobile
There are a few points on the mobile browser that stand out as potential reasons for cart/visit abandons.
I hope these tips helped. Would love to chat more if you have any other questions.
Best,

Recognize statements like that are nebulous it doesn't mean anything and provides no where near the amount of data someone would need to give actual solutions.
It would only have weight if there was prior high conversions over a long period to show this isn't the norm for your specific business|market.
Low conversions can just be the permanent reality now and in the future.
You need to figure out the customer journey, where from, where they land, what they interact with, when/where they leave.
The "why" they leave isn't a casual problem to solve, nor is the "why" they will buy.
Aesthetics,
The home page shocked faces may be a little to aggressive/dramatic for unaware visitors , or just simply the shy.
Or it could be perfect for the intended audience but it's the type of thing that needs to be market tested; a/b tested.
The color scheme pops.
There is notable design intent but it's incredibly inconsistent going between looking like every other run of the mill boxy drop shipping site to a custom effort in branding.

Hi Veronica and Vanessa,
This is Amee from Gojiberry - Shopify Survey & Feedback App.
I took a look at your store and I must say I love the concept and design already! I have a few suggestions that will help increase your conversion rate:
1. Testimonials. Showcasing a few testimonials on your home page -- whether from online customers or family/friends, helps promote consumer trust and confidence. Due to the nature of your product, maybe just pseudonyms if your customer is not comfortable doing a public review.
2. Call to action button. Add an add-to-cart button or any call-to-action button underneath each product on your product page.
3. Ask your customers! (Most effective for increasing conversion) Ask where your converting customers are coming from. You can easily do so with a post-purchase survey app, and reward your customers with coupons/points to keep them coming back again. It's good to start early. Once you find out your strongest marketing channel, focus more effort and money on that.
4. Try out other ad channels. Google shopping or Google search might bring you the best quality traffic because your potential customers are actively searching. I would suggest also trying Pinterest.
5. Include your Instagram feed! I checked out your IG and just followed you! You seem to have quite some followers already, so why not include some of the most popular posts (or other people posting about your product) on your web page too? This gives more social proof and content 🙂
Hope this helps!

Hi @OFace
I am Garcia from PageFly - Shopify Advanced Page Builder App. The bold font choice and modern color theme really make it stand out. And of course, the funny content is incredibly engaging! From my CRO expertise, I have some feedback for your Store and hope that they can help you increase the design.
Avoid cutting images on homepage
This can make the website look unfinished or unpolished, potentially reducing trust and credibility with visitors. Additionally, full, properly displayed images help convey information and set the tone for your website, enhancing the overall user experience.
Highlight important info in the paragraph
This will draw the reader's attention to the most critical points, ensuring they don't get lost in the text. It makes it easier for readers to quickly grasp the main ideas or key details. Or you can display the paragraph under bullet points layout.
Highlight core product and brand features
The homepage is often the first page visitors see. By showcasing core product and brand features, you quickly communicate what sets your products apart and what your brand stands for. It can be information about your materials (eco-friendly, sustainable,...), how you pack your order or any unique features about your products.
Consolidate the style of CTA (Call to Action) buttons
A consistent style ensures that users can easily identify and recognize CTA buttons, reducing confusion and improving the user experience.
Prepare for Holiday season
With the upcoming holiday season, numerous businesses are preparing for events like Black Friday Cyber Monday (BFCM), Christmas…. I strongly advise implementing these suggestions to capitalize on the holiday spirit:
- Provide customers with the choice of having their purchases beautifully gift-wrapped during the checkout process, offering convenience for those buying gifts for loved ones.
- Revamp your website with a holiday-themed design that captures the joyful essence of the season. Incorporate seasonal visuals, banners, and color schemes to create a warm and welcoming ambiance for visitors.
- Create some events to promote your products, for example:
Santa's Secret Wishlist: Encourage customers to create a wishlist of their favorite products and share it with their partner. Offer a discount on items from their wishlist to promote gift-giving.
Hope these recommendation help you increase CRO.
Cheers,
Garcia
