My First Shopify Store is up Please Give me Your Helpful Ideas for More Traffic and Sales

2 0 0

Hello all! This is my first Shopify store and I am very excited!

I did do the set up myself, so I know I am missing all kinds of SEO items and whatnot!

Check out my store and give me some much needed constructive gentle!

I have many items listed, and some I have just downloaded so there some that do show as out of stock. I have just not gotten to them yet to update.

I might be spreading myself a little thin on the inventory, but I just want to offer a wide variety of items for sale. I do not have a "niche" per I have always sold many different items since my online selling began in 2006.

Thank you for taking the time to check me out!

Hello! I have been advertising on FB and Instagram. I am short on money right now, so I cannot invest in pay per click types of advertisement. I just need to know what sort of things I need to add to my store as far as SEO goes. I know there are a ton of things that I have not done. Since I have discovered this community, there are some posts on here and information that I need to dive into.

It is nice to be important, but it is more important to be nice!

Hi @Suzabella

This is Garcia from PageFly - Shopify Landing Page Builder app.

Congrats on your online store! I can tell you've put in much effort to build this. I understand that building a beautiful website is not simple. From my CRO expertise, I'd love to give you my suggestions that might be helpful for your homepage:

1. Improve SEO in your website

I've used several SEO checker tools to assess your website, and there are several essential steps you should take to ensure your website's visibility on Google and enable Google to effectively crawl your site.

  • Add a meta description for your website
  • Try to reduce the number of used CSS files
  • Try to reduce the number of used JavaScript files
  • Review and improve the page title
  • Use good alternative descriptions (alt attributes) for your images

2. Use favicon for your website

Don't forget to add a favicon to your website. Having a favicon is essential as it not only makes your store unique but also helps customers easily recognize it. A favicon is a small, distinctive icon such as a logo that appears in the browser tab when visitors open your site.

3. Add more sections to showcase your store

To instill trust in your visitors, consider adding the following sections to your homepage:

  • Hero banner: Your hero image is vital for making a positive first impression. Keep it simple and free from distracting elements to reduce the bounce rate.
  • Featured products: Showcase your best-selling or featured products prominently.
  • Hot sales: Highlight ongoing promotions or hot deals.
  • Testimonials: Share customer reviews and testimonials to build credibility.

4. Use contrasting colors in you banner

On your homepage, you'll have numerous sections to showcase. However, not every section will contain equally crucial information that you want to convey. Therefore, I recommend using a contrast approach to highlight the important sections with darker colors and using lighter colors for less critical ones. You can take several sample design templates into consideration:

5. Use theme or template to save your time

If you are still struggling to choose prominent buttons or create a beautiful layout for your page, please consider using website builders like PageFly, Shogun,.... These Shopify website builders will assist you in building your page more easily than ever before by providing you with more than 100 free templates.

6. Prepare for upcoming shopping holidays

As the holiday season approaches, consider gearing up for events like Halloween, Black Friday, and Cyber Monday. Here are some recommendations to boost your conversion rate in these events:

  • Plan special promotions or discounts for these occasions
  • Create engaging and festive graphics to attract holiday shoppers
  • Optimize your website for mobile users, as many shoppers will be browsing on smartphones

  • Utilize social media to expand the reach of your promotional campaign by sharing promotion posts or running ads
  • Design holiday-themed landing pages to highlight your featured products, promotions, and campaign details. Aim for uniqueness so that visitors can easily recall your page.

I hope you find these suggestions helpful for optimizing your website's conversion rate. If you have any further questions or need additional assistance, feel free to reach out. Wishing you all the best with your online venture!

Best regards,
