I have 4 different art styles where you can choose five different types of frames, and on two of the products - the ones linked above - you may also choose between three different backgrounds. This effectively means that on those two products above, I have 90 variants and thus 90 different variant photos.
This is proving to be a huge hassle for me as I'd like to add more dogs, horses, birds, hamsters and just in general a lot of different images. This is important for the customer as it shows the variety and depth of what they can create. Instead of having to edit 90 different variants, isn't there an easier way to do this? Could I use something like Teeinblue to make the job easier, or another type of plugin?
My main questions are:
- How do I make editing variants a lot easier for myself in the future?
- Right now I only sell portraits to be printed on canvas, but I want to add posters in the future too. What would be the easiest method?
Thank you
Hey, I don't know exactly how to help you with the posters bit, but I think you could probably think outside the box about the way to show variants of your frames: instead of creating 90 different variants, consider making a video and/or a gif montage where you showcase it.
Does it make sense to you?
Hello @kayakaan,
I am Gina from flareAI app helping Shopify merchants get $6Million+ in sales from Google Search, on autopilot.
There are a few different options you could explore to make managing your product variants easier.
1. Use a third party app
There are several apps available for Shopify that can help you manage your product variants more easily. There are apps that allow you to create custom options for your products and simplify the process of managing variants.
2. Use a product customization tool
Another option is to use a product customization tool like Printful. These tools allow customers to customize their order by selecting different options (like art style, frame type, and background), and then automatically generate a mockup image of the final product based on their selections.
3. Use batch editing tools
Shopify also offers batch editing tools that allow you to make changes to multiple products at once. This could be useful if you need to make changes to a large number of variants across multiple products.
As for adding posters to your product lineup, one option would be to create a new product type for posters, and then use a similar approach to managing variants as you do for canvas prints. You could also consider using a print-on-demand service like Printful to handle the printing and shipping of your posters, which would simplify the process of adding them to your store.
Overall, the key is to find a system that works for you and makes managing your product variants as simple and efficient as possible.

Hi @kayakaan !
I feel you, managing a lot of variants in Shopify can be overwhelming!
I suggest using a product customizer app like Kickflip.
Not only it will help you a lot to manage your variants but it will also allow your customers to visualize every options in a live preview, even their pet image upload and name!
This visualization help increase sales as it gives more confidence to your customers before to buy.
The easiest method to add other products with variants, with an app like Kickflip, will be to duplicate an existing product and only modify the images related.
I invite you to start your free trial and see by yourself the power of Kickflip customizer 🙂
