Need Honest & Helpful Feedback On My New Shopify Store, Please.

Hi! I have only been aware of Shopify for two months now & I launched my print-on-demand business "Album Palattes" 5 days ago. I am offering posters that I designed for the community of my social media. I have yet to get any sales, and I am curious is if the reason is due to how my store looks. Many people have visited my site and added products to their cart, but none has made a purchase. I have asked family and friends for their opinion on my store and they all seem to love it, as well as many of my followers on Instagram. 

I just need some major constructive criticism and advice from a knowledgeable Shopify member on anything I could do to improve my store and start generating better results. Thanks!

I've viewed your site and genuinely think it's great. The only comment I can make on the design is the hamburger menu and slideshow title aren't super clear due to the busy background image:


With regards to content, it's all there. I really love the 'our story' page, it tells the customer who you are and what you're about.

So why aren't you making any sales? In your message, you mention you've noticed a few abandoned carts. Let's explore what's making customers step away once they reach the checkout:

Is your checkout working?
Have you tested the checkout? If you haven't I do recommend testing this to ensure orders are able to be processed. Check out this help page for guidance on how to place a test order. Remember you aren't charged for test orders, and you should always place at least one test order during your store setup, or whenever you make changes to your payment settings.

Is your shipping cost too high?
Hidden fees and high shipping are a big reason people abandon their carts. Have a think about raising your product cost and lowering your shipping cost. Consumers are happy to pay big bucks for the product, but not for the shipping. I, myself, can think of plenty of times where free shipping has lured me in. It's psychology! 

Another area I suggest working on is your target market. Your products are super cool but they won't be everyone's cup of tea. To discover your niche market I recommend completing the Niche It! course by Shopify Compass. In this free course, you'll learn the 5 benefits of niching your business, how to find your perfect niche market, and how to develop your customer avatar.

Another tip I can offer is to utilize the use of hashtags on your Instagram posts. You're able to use 30 hashtags with each post and using all of them can help you reach a more targeted audience and boost your engagement. Here is a great read if you'd like to learn more about this.

-> You can use open new tab on the links on the footer section and items on grid page, then customers are spent more time on your store.
-> I would suggest including item reviews too, as reviews for customers to share their positive experience thus different customers can see the reviews and be influenced to purchase.
-> You can improve your Testimonials. Testimonials take the spotlight away from the seller, and shine it on the customer. Adding client testimonials to your website can be an extremely effective way to establish trust and strengthen your company's reputation. They are extremely powerful tools when it comes to strengthening your branding.
-> Why not add a blog to your store?
Blog can be utilized for anything that includes conveying or distributing data on the World Wide Web. So I advise you to place your blog in your store,  And your store looking Awesome.

- For getting more conversions and sales you can target your customers by sending automated emails that help to improve the relevancy and timeliness of your campaigns. You can use triggers and workflows to automatically send messages to consumers after they take a specific action. For some reason unknown to you, they leave without making a purchase but with email automation, you can make sure that this user receives an email shortly after they abandoned their cart, reminding them of what they left behind and asking if they need help completing their purchase. In this case, email marketing automation turns a missed opportunity into an opportunity to build a stronger relationship and make a sale.

- Add a web push notification - It turns visitors into subscribers and subscribers into customers. It’s a powerful and effective marketing tool adopted by online businesses to reach out to and interact with their audience, keep them updated about any important information, announcing sales and offers, and eventually driving more eCommerce conversions.

- Add exit-intent popup. Track when someone is about to leave your website and show the visitor exit-intent popup with attractive offers and coupon code to complete the purchase.

- You can add a countdown timer to create urgency for your promotions or offers with the countdown timer bar and motivate your customers to buy more from the store. It helps in increasing sales.

Congratulations on launching your product and store! I've taken a look through and I have a few suggestions.

First, on your homepage I would change the text in your banner. As a first time visitor I was kind of confused as to what you sold. I'd replace it with something like "Unique Color Palette Prints" with a line of text below that (in a smaller font) that says something about them being based off of the most popular albums of our time or something like that. Your button I would simply say "Shop Now".


On your products page where you have "Klarna" I would instead have the add to cart button (that's where my brain naturally goes). It's great you have options, I think there are just too many presented initially. I would be better to have them at the checkout instead.

The next thing I'd suggest is working on your SEO. Your product titles are the same as the album cover. When a person types Billie Eilish - "WHEN WE ALL FALL ASLEEP, WHERE DO WE GO?" they are specifically looking for her album. You want to show up in search for a person who is looking for your type of product. So something like "Billie Eilish Artwork" or "Billie Eilish Prints", not these words exactly, but just as an example of what I'm talking about. We go more in depth in our video:

It will be wrong to conclude that the reason you're not getting sales is because of how the store looks because it is beautifully designed and easy to use.

I love your "Our Story" page. concise and minimalist indeed!

Here are my feedbacks, I hope you find them useful;

Know and focus on your community

I think you have a very niche product that can only sell to certain people, know those people, and how best to get them to buy. Maybe you can spend some time learning tricks and clever ways to get people in your community to buy. I will not spend too much bulks on Ads or unnecessary marketing tools. To be honest, it took me a while to actually understand the product.

Show the Quality of the final product

The quality of the final product that you will be shipping to your customers is not shown enough. It will be cool to have 'The Weeknd's After Hours' Palette but I think I will want it in a better finishing than you're currently showing on the store.

Also, a good way to improve your sales is by using smart search and filter solutions that will allow your customers to search for the product they need instantly and also filter through your store.
