New Store Feedback. No Sales Yet

Hi all,

I launched my new store 48 hours ago. My store is theanxiousgiraffe.com. I've been running a Facebook ad since I launched. I've had over 1,000 views on my ad and 60 people visit my site. No sales as of this writing. No abandoned sales, just no one even adding to cart and attempting so far. I've read other posts on here and added an About section and Contact page based on previous feedback. Any other feedback is welcome.

 

I am only selling one product right now. I wanted to start with something small. I eventually plan to add various relaxation themed products (massagers, etc).

Congratulations on your new store. I am also a new store owner selling one product also. I will share some of the advice that I have received so far and maybe it will help you.

  • Your Header - Make it sticky. Follows the customer as they scroll down the page.
  • Contact - Not sure if it is applicable or not but was advised to remove the requirement of entering a phone number
  • I might not be the right customer but I did not understand how to use the product. If you can show how they are used that might increase understanding of use.
  • Any refund policy, terms of service, etc?

1. Home page

1.1 Make the menu sticky

A sticky menu header helps customers to reach out to the menu and access the menu anytime they want. The menu has a search bar, and making a search bar prominent is very important. This helps customers feel rest assured and they can search anytime when they scroll up or down on the home page.

1.2 Add section about your brand story

A business can stand out with its brand story. A brand story helps customers understand more about your business and also helps your store look more professional. 

1.3 Show featured products of each collection page

You should show featured products for each collection. This helps to catch more customer attention and keeps them staying longer to discover more.

With each product, you can add a CTA button.

1.4 Add testimonial - customer reviews

You can show rating stars for each product or you can add customer reviews as text and photos.

You can use Loox or Yotpo app to review widgets with photos gallery because both of them integrate with PageFly already.

1.5 Display social media

As usual, social media is one of the effective ways to get more traffic and make a good connection with your customers. By displaying social media such as Instagram (or Facebook, Twitter) and constantly updating the feed.

1.6 Have direct links for the Return and Shipping policies on the footer

  • Many customers want to know the return policies as well as shipping info before making purchases. And this is crucial to their decision on whether to purchase products in your store. And they are likely to find it on the footer so it's necessary to add this information. 
  • Shipping policy is essential because many customers want to know the shipping options available to them before they committed to adding a product to the cart page and go to the checkout page

2. Product page

2.1 Add more images from different angles and of the real models

You should show more images from different angles of the product so the customers can see the details.

And you can add more images that a human model is holding the product

2.2 Add product description

2.3 Add a section to show reviews

A review widget is highly recommended on a product page so other customers can see others' feedback. With a review widget, there is a button to encourage customers to leave reviews. As I mentioned above, Loox and Yotpo are good.  

2.4 Provide a list of Recently viewed items

Many customers want to view previous items. If it’s too difficult to view again previous items, they will likely frustrated, and may not purchase anymore.

In general, the store looks good and simple. However, I've noticed you don’t use e-marketing tools that can help you to increase sales and drive traffic. I would recommend you to start applying them to your store and keep working on the current product range. I hope it'll work for you.

  1. Install Social Login. It will help with customer retention and analytics.
  2. Attach Chatbot. Improve support experience for customers.
  3. Add Blog Page. Since your store has been launched recently, a blog will make your shop more credible and relatable. 
  4. Include More Sections on your Home Page. For example New Arrivals, Sale, Reviews, Blog, Rewards, etc.Screenshot_1.png

     

  5. Add more information in the "About Us" section. Tell your visitors more about your history, mission, philosophy, etc.
  6. Add reviews. Collect reviews and gain customer trust. Since you have launched your shop recently, gain reviews through application according to your budget. Reviews app automates sending personalized review request emails to your customers based on what they bought. 
  7. Include Loyalty/Rewarding/Referral program. It motivates your shoppers to engage more meaningfully with your brand. Also, it helps to increase repeat purchases and turn your customers into loyal clients.
