No sales

Hi, guys. Newbie, here. I own Extraordinarythingz, and I've been operating for about 6 weeks now, and have not made a single sale. I'm on a fixed income, so, a very limited budget. Could someone have a look and maybe tell me what I'm doing wrong?

Thank you for your time and consideration of this matter.

Hey @larrydavislive,

Would you mind sharing your website URL so I can provide you with some curated feedback?

I understand that starting a new business can be challenging, and it can be disheartening when you don't see immediate results. It's great that you are seeking help and advice to improve your website and attract customers.

Based on what you've shared, it sounds like there may be a few areas where you could improve. However, it's important to remember that building a successful business takes time, effort, and patience.

Here are some suggestions that may help you improve your sales:

  • It might be helpful to take a step back and review your website with fresh eyes. Think about what your customers would want to see and make sure your website is easy to navigate and visually appealing.
  • Identifying the right keywords can take some time, but it's important to research and use relevant keywords to improve your search engine ranking and attract potential customers.
  • Targeting the right audience is key to driving sales. Consider who your ideal customer is and create targeted marketing campaigns to reach them.
  • Effective product descriptions can make all the difference. Take the time to write informative and persuasive descriptions that highlight the benefits and unique features of your products.
  • Social media can be a powerful tool to promote your business. Identify which platforms your target audience is most active on and create engaging content to build your brand and attract customers.

Remember, building a successful business is a journey, and it's okay to make mistakes along the way. Don't be afraid to try new strategies and be open to feedback. With hard work and perseverance, you can achieve your goals.

Look forward to hearing from you!

Hello Larry, it would have been much better if you shared your store URL link for me to have a look at but anyways here are two major general suggestions that could be useful.

1) You should make sure the social media accounts of the business as well as accepted methods of payment are both present at the bottom of the homepage.

2) You should consider bundling products together in your store. For example, if you are selling clothing items you could bundle  matching shirts and shoes together and sell at one joint price. Customers tend to lean towards deals like these ones. However, to do this efficiently you’ll need the aid of an app and I suggest none other than the Bundler- Product Bundles App. This app would help handle everything you can think of with regards to bundling products in your store together for the most optimal results. You can even try it for free here

Hi @larrydavislive,

I’m Richard - CRO expert from PageFly - Shopify Page Builder App.

Congrats on your new store! I have just taken a quick look at your website and here are some plus points:

  • Have a clear search icon
  • Use high-quality images + videos

That being said, here are some suggestions for your store to increase the conversion rate:

1. Have a favicon for your store

This makes your store look unique and professional. You can check this Shopify guide for more details

2. Make your notification bar well-designed

Let's make it simple with your convincing brand values. This keeps the intrigue high, inspiring them to scroll & learn more about your products.

3. Have a sticky header

This will help customers navigate from every part of the homepage to any page of your store more conveniently.

If possible, please resize your logo to save more space for your products to be viewed, especially when scrolling the page.

4. CTA buttons

A primary call to action button is one of the important things for a home page of an online store.

With this button, you will redirect customers to the page you want them to take action mostly. It can redirect to a collection page, or a product page, etc.

It’s great when you placed a “Shop all” button on your banner. A CTA button here will urge visitors to make the purchase and it is a great way to optimize your home page.

You can consider adding a background color for it to highlight the button.

And, please rest assured that all CTA buttons should have the same styling to boost the conversion rate.

5. Adjust reasonable spacing

You might want to add more spacing among these texts as it makes your store outlook more aesthetic.

6. Align the items evenly

As long as the product titles and product prices align with each other, the product list becomes more attractive to keep the customers stay longer on your site.

7. Add testimonials - customer reviews

Customer reviews are proof of your product quality. This section will help you build customers' trust. You can show rating stars for each product or you can add customer reviews as text and photos.

Moreover, International Women’s Day 2023 (IWD) is just around the corner. With the theme #EmbraceEquality, here are some worthwhile ideas for you to make the most of it:

1. Personalize your discounts and deals

You can offer sales, discounts, or special deals to your female customers to make them feel more valued in IWD!

2. Show testimonials from female customers

You can show rating stars for each product or you can add customer reviews as text and photos. Additionally, featuring women's portraits with their testimonials would make it even more engaging.

3. Spotlights female staff

This can be a great way to enhance your brand presence as a brand that supports equality for women. You can even promote your own business if it’s women-owned as it is probably a golden opportunity for you to receive support and promotion from others.

And that's my feedback! Hope it helps your business.

Hello @larrydavislive,

I am Gina from flareAI app - free sales machine, and I am here to support you.

I'm sorry to hear that you haven't made any sales yet. Starting a new business can be challenging, and it can take time to gain traction and generate revenue. Here are a few possible reasons why you may not be making sales:

1. Lack of visibility
If people don't know your business exists, they won't be able to buy from you. It's possible that your marketing efforts aren't reaching your target audience. Consider investing in some low-cost marketing strategies, such as social media marketing or email marketing, to increase your visibility.

2. Ineffective messaging
If your messaging isn't resonating with your target audience, they may not see the value in what you're selling. Make sure your messaging clearly communicates the benefits of your products and how they solve a problem for your customers.

3. Poor website design
If your website is difficult to navigate, slow to load, or unprofessional-looking, it can turn off potential customers. Make sure your website is easy to use and visually appealing.

4. Limited product selection
If you only offer a few products, potential customers may not find what they're looking for. Consider expanding your product selection or offering customization options to appeal to a wider audience.

5. Lack of trust
If your website doesn't look secure or professional, or if you don't have any customer reviews or testimonials, potential customers may be hesitant to buy from you. Make sure your website looks trustworthy and consider reaching out to friends and family to leave reviews.

6. Competitors
It's possible that you have competitors who are offering similar products at a lower price or with better marketing. Consider researching your competitors to see what they're doing differently.

To address these issues, you could try:

1. Optimizing your website for better search engine visibility, including using relevant keywords and optimizing your content and metadata.
2. Offering discounts or promotions to incentivize people to buy from you.
3. Reach out to your social network and ask for referrals.
4. Creating partnerships with other businesses or influencers to expand your reach.
5. Reach out to your target audience directly through email or direct mail marketing campaigns.

Remember that building a successful business takes time, effort, and patience. Don't get discouraged by slow initial sales, and keep experimenting with different strategies until you find what works for you.

Good luck!

Hi, Gina! Thank you so much for your insights. I totally agree and working
hard to implement them. I'm working with a limited budget, so there's only
so much I can do over time. But, I'm on it. Without risks there's no
rewards, right. I sincerely appreciate you taking the time to look at my
site and making your recommendations, and graciously hope that you continue
to do so. I look forward to hearing more.

Welcome to the Shopify community.

Hope you are doing well. Here are a few suggestions.

Logo: You should need a proper logo to represent your brand. It should communicate your brand's message, values, and identity. It should be simple, distinctive, and memorable.

Logo Size: It’s important to note that your logo does not need to be exactly 410 pixels wide by 205px high.

Front Images: Use good quality featured and right dimension banner images with call-to-action buttons to captivate user attention. It should be resized images for mobile screens.

Please read these blogs:

Images should be in the best format.

Homepage: Homepage designs guide your visitors around your website. To engage visitors you need to work on the homepage layout design.

Include trust indicators on the homepage. Homepage content should be strategically decided. You can add a ‘Call to action banner’ ‘New arrivals’, ‘Top selling products, Most popular collection, announcement bar, Today's deals, and offers, etc on the homepage to engage users.

Your store should be clear navigation. The store should have easy to access the shopping cart.

Add Blog: You know creating/adding blogs gives you a great way to generate fresh content on a website and provide a catalyst for email marketing, and social media promotion to drive search traffic to your website.

Blogs build trust with your customers and improve shopify SEO ranking. Blogs can boost sales.

Trust Signals: Show off trust signals and customer testimonials to boost conversion. Customer testimonials and trust Signals build customers' trust and help customers to feel more secure in their buying decision.

Improve SEO, links, usability, and performance score to increase conversion & sales (Your page could be better)

Check your store with the Page insight tool to get the score. because the low mobile score can kill the website traffic and lose revenue. optimizing a Shopify site for high page load speed is a major priority.

Compare your store with your competitors. Also compare your product price with others.

Google Search Console :

Is your website exist on the search result page? (Your brand name). If yes then it's good to see, google is indexing and the user will reach you easily. Unless your store is completely invisible.

If you are not using the Google Search Console yet, set it up now. Google Search Console report will let you know if your pages are indexed or not at all. If none of your pages can be found by Google, then it may have an issue, as this means no organic traffic at all. And No traffic means no Conversion.

  • Find the Pages, Where You Lose the Most Customers. Convert More of the Shoppers Who Put Products in Their Carts. Check your store bounce rate.
  • Showcase How Popular Product Pages Are. Promote Offers With Push Notifications in the form of Popups or announcement bars. Optimize Your Product Pages.
  • Look at the difference between your New Visitors and your Returning Visitors. For most Shopify stores, your returning visitors will have a much higher conversion rate than your new visitors.

You need to focus on the following points........

  • Highlight product benefits clearly
  • Allow guest checkout.
  • Choose relevant keywords
  • Identify your target customers.
  • Use design to improve user experience.
  • Create Content That Converts
  • Mobile-friendliness
  • Check bounce rate regularly
  • Offer competitive prices
  • Send Relevant Emails
  • Make Use of First-time Offers

Hope these points will help you! We will share with you a free audit report of your store If you wish!

WOW. That's a lot to digest and exactly what I needed. Thank you so much
for taking the time and consideration. I'll do my best to work down that
I have a different question. Another store's representative contacted me
via my business email, and asked if I could post their Everlast products
ads on my Instagram business page. They're offering to pay me $100 per week
to do so. They want me to add their email to my account so that their
advertising department can verify that I've connected so that I could then
receive payment.
Is $100 weekly sufficient? And, do I have to connect their email to my
profile? Yes. I'm still learning. LOL I look forward to hearing from you.
Thank you for your time and consideration of this matter.
