Hi @edwardda02

You did not mention the link to your store but I am guessing it is https://royboysgeneralstore.com/ ?

You did a few good things like setting up products, contact information (note you need the same info at the end of Terms),  a few payment options but in general sorry to say,  it does not look very professional.

The first thing I noticed was the lack of a menu, which is a crucial thing for any website. You should organize your collections in the menu for easy access. Also, you do not have a logo and favicon. On the homepage that big wood image in fall is great but really with no function, it just takes all that space. And a choice of that green color for a text is not great. Some titles that are bigger and bold may be fine but smaller and thinner text is almost unreadable. On product pages, you have accordions: Materials, Shipping, Dimmensions, Care instructions that are empty.

You should find a few well-known. popular online stores that do the same thing as you want. Take good things from them and try to implement on your store. Also check some paid themes for general markets and get some inspiration form there. I know you are not either developer or designer but some things you should learn along the way.

If you have time, check as many topics as you can from people with the same issues

https://community.shopify.com/c/forums/searchpage/tab/message?filter=location&q=no%20sales&location=...

And those issues repeat, so try to learn from that and apply what you can on your store and improve bit by bit.

Good luck, have patience, and in time I hope sales will come.

Kind regards

Hi @edwardda02 ,

Your store isn't shared but considering @Laza_Binaery guessed right, I'll share some advice for https://royboysgeneralstore.com/

First of all, launching a quickly made general dropshipping store won't work anymore, especially for beginner entrepreneurs. Customers' awareness have risen over time and you're directly competing with amazon, ebay, walmart and alike. Always try to put yourself in the shoes of a customer and ask this: "Why should I buy from here?" RoyBoys General Store currently doesn't answer this. What to do instead? Niche down and build a brand. Steps to take:

Market Research and Planning:

  • If you have no clue where to begin, consult AI chatbots. They're good at giving insights on trends. Check out successful brands' stories. If there is a niche interests you OR you believe may work, check out your competitors' websites, their social marketing, see what they do right or wrong. Don't directly copy but use what's already working as an inspiration. Think if you can bring a unique angle to the table.
  • A general store may still work if that's the route you wish to take, but you still have to bring value which sets your brand apart. Your current slogan: "You'll find best products here" is vague and won't sell. You may explore something like: "Tools for a simpler, smarter daily life" and organize your categories / products accordingly. It'll give your brand a unique identity and when a customer visits, they know they'll find interesting and practical products next time.

Brand Identity Design:

  • After deciding on the niche and approach you wish to take with your business, you should continue with setting brand identity guidelines. First step should be to defining your target audience (customer persona), brand values, brand mission and any identity that would make you unique which moves you up in the competition.
  • Now that you have a clearer vision on your brand, next step should be to work on logo, color palette, fonts, visual assets that would resonate with your brand.

Storefront Design:

  • Even though you're not a designer, you should still try to approach this professionally. Your website should look pleasing and reflect your brand identity. Your website should capture the attention of visitors at first land, which makes header / banner extremely important. They should be able to have an idea of what your brand offers and keep them interested. Current banner (the autumn forest) have nothing to do with the store.
  • The website should guide visitors to purchase with easy navigation and answering all questions along the way with value proposition and content strategies. I don't want to overwhelm you with so much to digest at once. You can refer to one of my recent feedback when you're at design phase. I believe it'll give you insights of how to approach the website / brand design: Re: Not getting enough traffic nor sales

Marketing:

  • Let's say you have a store that could convert, but how will potential customers find you? You'll have to plan your marketing content and strategies. Again, research how your competitors are marketing and get inspiration.
  • If you have a limited budget, you should check out organic traffic methods. Along with simply marketing your products, you can also provide content that would align with your target audience, and ultimately guide to your store.
  • You can also directly begin with paid ads, however I suggest starting it slow. Because you wouldn't know if your store converts yet. Make sure your ad spend doesn't exceed your profits. If it does, you'll need to optimize both your ads and website design.

These are the key points to make a brand successful. There are more to it but you can discover and figure out along the way. It may sound like a lot of work. But if you're determined to take the necessary steps and stay motivated, no reason for it to not work. And do not get lost in "trying to make it perfect". Most brands fail before even launching because they get lost in initial steps. Build something that can work, and you can always optimize further by testing and adapting.

Good luck on your journey and happy new year! Feel free to reach out to me if you need any further assistance.
