Sales are non-existent...

It seems I have the same issue as a lot of you here. My Shopify site is waxmeltsformen.com and I have gotten a few sales from it, but nothing like I was hoping. I'm sure SEO is an issue, but I've run Facebook ad after Facebook ad, spending hundreds of dollars and still nothing. Can someone tell me what I'm doing wrong, or point me to a professional that could help without spending hundreds more? Thank you!

Hi @DMick27

This is Richard from PageFly - Landing Page Builder, I’d love to give you my suggestions as hereby:

HOME PAGE

1> Add favicon to your store

A favicon for your store can help customers recognize it and will make it stand out. Users can use favicons to easily recognize your site in a sea of open tabs. Also, they facilitate users' ability to locate your store in their browser history. Customers are more likely to recognize your logo the next time they see it the more often they see your favicon.

2> Add CTA button to your hero banner

You can add a CTA button here to lead your visitor to your feature product / collection, etc.

PageFlyRichard_1-1679540290025.png

3> Add more top padding

Currently, the top padding is a bit narrow and doesn’t create enough space between the first and second sections. We suggest you could add more top padding so that your homepage will have a balance of negative and filled space. Especially when you have a section that contains a lot of content, like a testimonial, it can look muddled and be difficult to read..

PageFlyRichard_2-1679540289423.png

4> Have a Secondary Hover Images:

There are few strategies you can use for your secondary hover images:

  • “Lifestyle” Thumbnails:
  • “Compatibility” Thumbnails
  • “Feature Callout” Thumbnails
  • “Product Variation” Thumbnails

Secondary hover images will help customers see different views of the products so that they can easily gain trust and make Buying decisions.

PageFlyRichard_3-1679540289468.png

5> Use different background color schemes for different sections

Currently, these 3 sections have the same background color, which doesn't help you deliver your messages to your audiences. For example, if you want to highlight the featured callout section only, you could use a navy background for it and use a different color scheme for the “Subscribe to our emails” section.

PageFlyRichard_4-1679540289752.png

6> Include direct links in the footer to the "Shipping Info" pages.

Users, in my opinion, need to know about the site's return policy and shipping choices before making a purchase decision. It might go in the footer or in this Shipping Details link. Users' need to learn about the return policy is directly linked to shipping information – how much would they lose on any non-refundable shipping expenses if they have to return a product? In fact, some consumers value shipping information so much that they want to know what shipping alternatives are available to them before they commit to purchasing a product.

PageFlyRichard_5-1679540289345.png

PRODUCT PAGE

1> Include Both the User Rating Average and Number of Ratings

When it comes to online shopping, customer reviews are crucial. PageFly makes adding testimonials and product reviews to your page an ease.

PageFlyRichard_6-1679540290202.png

2> Add more information in the product description

A product description's main goal is to persuade people to buy by giving them crucial details about the characteristics and major advantages of the product.

Here are the main headlines that you could stick to in order to write effective product descriptions:

  • The target audience’s problems
  • Benefits of your product (How your product helps your audiences solve their problems?)
  • Your SOPs (Unique Selling Points)

PageFlyRichard_7-1679540290171.png

3> Display a minimum of 5-6 reviews by default, with the ability to “Load More”

As previously mentioned, reviews are extremely significant when making a "Buying" decision; hence, showing 5-6 reviews as defaults will not only increase your brand's credibility, but will also keep the page responsive.

PageFlyRichard_8-1679540290372.png

4> Add recently-viewed section

You might consider giving all users (including those who aren't signed in) access to a history-based recently viewed things list, and allowing them to change it. For a variety of reasons, users may desire to revisit previously seen content.

For example, throughout both mobile and desktop testing, people frequently wanted to return to a product they'd seen before simply to reevaluate it after having looked at and rejected other options. Users will become bored and dissatisfied if it is too difficult to refind previously viewed things, and they may decide not to buy anything at all.

You could consider adding a recently-viewed section right above the “you may also like” section.

PageFlyRichard_9-1679540289669.png

Site Speed

Page speed is extremely crucial for both buyer’s experience and Google ranking, so you could consider Shopify themes made to help you boost Google page speed score for your store such as Blum, Refresh, Dawn…

Hope it helps and happy selling!

Warm regards,

Richard | PageFly

Google Search Console :

Is your website exist on the search result page? (Your brand name). If yes then it's good to see, google is indexing and the user will reach you easily. Unless your store is completely invisible.

If you are not using the Google Search Console yet, set it up now. Google Search Console report will let you know if your pages are indexed or not at all. If none of your pages can be found by Google, then it may have an issue, as this means no organic traffic at all. And No traffic means no Conversion.

Hey DMick,

This is Namit from One Day Design.

There are two parts to getting a sale:
1) Getting the right visitor to your website
2) Convincing the right visitor that your product is the best fit

Let's focus more on part 2 and talk about your market. I believe your biggest competitor would be Amazon and big name brands that also sell male wax melts. Something you need to keep in mind.

Your website:

Headline / Hero Section: You need to make your value proposition clear. Some questions to consider  Yes, you sell wax melts for men but how are they better? How are they the perfect fit for men? What makes them good?

I like the copy on your 3rd banner but it's too long and by the time I reach that page, I have already decided I might not buy from you.

At the risk of not knowing your brand enough, here are some inspirations - "Unique scent to match your taste", "Scents to take you to places you dream of", "Can take you back to your childhood or the moon"

To conclude: These need to resonate with the benefit you will provide to your ideal customer

Review/Social Proof: I love that you have these
1) Reduce the real estate that the reviews take and add in a horizontal scroll
2) Maybe add a different colour for the reviews. This will allow for a page break and improve readability.

You should also follow the basic changes in the other comments. Those will help improve the overall layout.
