I have been scammed by a fake website on Shopify!

 

I ordered a camera, paid (with Ideal, not creditcard), got the confirmation message, but the shop was gone a few hours later.  Of course i've contacted the seller, but they don't reply.

 

The shop was:   gleamcartt.myshopify.com

 

My bank says they can't do anything, i have to go to Shopify. I can file a dispute with Shopify online, but here's the deal: shopify asks for the confirmation URL link. I can get that by following the link in the confirmation message, but the shop doesn't exist anymore so i can't get that link.

 

My guess is that Shopify does this intentionally; everyone that got scammed by one of the shops they hosted can only file a dispute with this link, but of course most webshops are gone when you find out your were scammed, so almost no one can file a dispute.

 

How can i get my money back, Shopify? Since you don't seem to have a good screening for people who open a shop, i think you are co-responsible for losing my money. 

 

(it was a camera i have been saving money for a year on to buy for my cousin who went through a rough time...)

Thanks for Bringing up this matter on Shopify community.

As many the shopper got scammed for the online shopping. It's become comment now. Everyone want to scam just for the sack of money.

But every shopper should consider the trust score of every website before purchasing anything.
As you cannot get the confirmation link then you can report the shop by visiting this link: https://www.shopify.com/legal/tools/report-an-issue

Maybe shopify team involve in this matter and access the orders or charge the money from the attached account.
