Feedback for your online store from the community
Hello so I've got a lot of sessions coming into my business and want to turn them into sales how can I do this at www.crushsurfboards.co.uk
Hi @CrushSurfboard,
I'm Tracy from BON Loyalty, the top-rated Shopify loyalty app.
First off, I want to say you’ve done an awesome job with your store! The layout looks great, and you’ve got your products well organized. Getting traffic is a huge win, so now it’s just about making a few tweaks to turn those visits into actual sales. You’re really close — let’s fine-tune a bit to help things along!
Here are a couple of things from my experience that could give you a boost:
1/ Move Customer Reviews Directly to the Product Page
I noticed you’ve already got customer reviews on your site, which is fantastic — they’re a huge trust-builder! However, I’d recommend moving those reviews from a separate page and displaying them directly on the individual product pages. This makes it easier for customers to see what others are saying without having to click away. When customers can read reviews while browsing a product, they’re more likely to trust it and make a purchase.
What You Can Do: Add a section under each product where those glowing reviews can live. Something like “What Surfers Are Saying” or “Customer Stories” right under the product description will grab attention and encourage buyers to read through them before making a decision. That little tweak can make a big difference!
2/ Streamline the Checkout Process with Guest Checkout and Email Campaigns
Making the checkout process smooth is key to reducing drop-offs. Offering guest checkout is a great way to remove any friction from the buying process — customers love it when they don’t have to create an account just to buy something. Another idea that’s worked well for others is setting up an abandoned cart email campaign.
What You Can Do: Once you’ve got guest checkout in place, set up an email to automatically go out if someone leaves without completing their purchase. A friendly message along the lines of:
“Hey, we noticed you were checking out the [product name]. Still thinking about it? Here’s 10% off to help you decide!”
can be the gentle nudge someone needs to come back and finish their purchase.
3/ Leverage Social Proof with User-Generated Content
Surfers love sharing their adventures, and you can use this to your advantage. Encouraging customers to tag your brand on social media and featuring their photos or videos right on your site helps build trust and community. It makes your brand feel more approachable and relatable.
What You Can Do: Create a “Surfer Stories” section on your homepage or product pages where you feature real customers riding your boards. This can be as simple as an Instagram feed or even a photo gallery that highlights your boards in action.
You’ve already built a solid foundation with your store, and it’s clear you’re on the right track. With a few small adjustments like moving reviews to the product page and streamlining checkout, I’m confident you’ll start seeing more sales. Keep up the great work, and don’t hesitate to ask for more advice along the way. We’re all here to support you!

Hi @CrushSurfboard,
Thanks for reaching out to the community. This is MooseDesk - All-in-one Customer Support and Helpdesk Solution for your Start-up
Congratulations on your new store! I can see it is well-designed and has quite enough essential details. However, if you are having trouble generating sales, please check out my recommendations below
1. Add a favicon
Adding a favicon can indeed contribute to converting visitors to shoppers, although its impact might be more subtle than other elements. It helps users quickly reorient themselves if they accidentally navigate away, potentially salvaging sales
While a favicon alone isn't likely to dramatically increase conversions, it's part of a holistic approach to creating a professional, trustworthy, and user-friendly online store.
2. Refine the footer section
Similar to the favicon, the footer is often overlooked, but it's a valuable piece that can contribute to more sales. You can optimize it by re-organizing the elements and add some more.
Some of the elements you can consider adding are:
3. Add sub-category dropdown for the navigation menu
This allows your visitors to quickly find specific product categories and keeps them engaged by showing a variety of available products. A more intuitive and enjoyable shopping experience can lead to higher average order values and ultimately improved sales.
4. Optimize your review page
Consider adding the number of customer reviews as it indicates popularity and trust from other customers. A large number of reviews also means that the product has been thoroughly tested by real users.
5. Add an FAQ page
A comprehensive FAQ page can significantly improve sales by addressing common customer concerns and streamlining the purchase process. You're not just providing information but you're actively addressing barriers to purchase, building trust, and creating a smoother shopping experience through the FAQs.
I suggest exploring MooseDesk, a free support, FAQ & Helpdesk App. MooseDesk provides auto-reply features during non-business hours, a proactive help center, and a user-friendly widget layout, offering an effective solution to enhance customer support on your platform.

Hey @CrushSurfboard personally, if I wanted to get a surfboard I’d like for there to be atleast videos of the surfboard in action, so I think adding videos would be my first suggestion. Also, you should maybe work on adding more designs to both the store and the surfboards to make it look a bit more appealing.
