Feedback for your online store from the community
Hi!
I am new to Shopify and still working on building out my shop. I have recently started up my store focusing on the pet niche and was looking for some feedback just to see if there is anything that you can see that needs improvements.
I am open to any feedback as I am looking to generate more sales and conversions. Thanks again everyone for your help.
My site is located at www.pawsitivedelight.com

Hi @jasonjl192,
This is Victor from PageFly - Shopify Page Builder App. After looking into your store, I have some comments below:
Here are some good points I can see from your site:
I have a few more comments to make your pages even better:
HOME PAGE
1. Align buttons and redesign them
To make your page look more professional, you should align these buttons on the same line
Also, the background image has a similar color vibe to the buttons, so they don't really stand out and thus, fail to encourage buyers to click “Shop Now". My suggestion is that you change the background color of the buttons and reduce the opacity of your background image.
2. Add ratings to your products
When customers browse your page, they will find star ratings useful. This lets them know what products are trending and getting positive feedback from similar buyers.
3. Showcase your Instagram or other social profiles
As usual, social media is one of the effective ways to get more traffic and make a good connection with your customers. Display social media such as Instagram and constantly update the feed.
4. Add CTA buttons for products
When showcasing your products, you should not miss a chance to encourage your buyers to take actions. Therefore, adding a CTA button for each product will increase the chance of getting a deal. Add buttons below the prices and let your customers decide:
PRODUCT PAGE
1. Use swatches as selectors for color variations
Users who cannot easily determine all the color variations a product comes in may overlook options they would prefer and prematurely abandon a product that could have been suitable.
The solution is that you use swatches to display and select color variations (not dropdown).
You can check this image for reference:
2. Adjust price styling
You should define which price you want to highlight. In this case, I'm sure it's “$42.99”, which is the sales price that your customers might be interested in. Thus, what you need to do is to increase the size of the discounted price and reduce the size of the original one (change its color too).
3. Display a minimum of 6 reviews by default, with the ability to load more
Users’ reviews are very important in online shopping. To increase conversion rate, it is advised that you have a review section where customers can read true reviews of your products. And you should display a minimum of 6 reviews by default. A too-short list of reviews prevents exploration and pattern detection.
Furthermore, for the upcoming Valentine's Day, will you run any campaigns? Here are some promotion ideas for your campaigns, I hope they will be useful for you.
1. Personalize Your Offer for Valentine's Day
Gift-giving is almost like a ritual on Valentine’s day. You can make the most out of it by offering products around Valentine's theme.
2. Mention Your Delivery Time & Rates Clearly
Delivery time is one of those things that can make or break your business. And if it’s some holiday, buyers take the delivery dates too seriously. To convert these visitors into potential buyers, mention your delivery dates clearly across your website, app, and emails. Also, specify the last date to place an order to reach on time.
3. Create Gift Guides
As mentioned earlier, Valentine’s Day is the season of gift-giving. But, when it comes to finding a perfect gift, people have what’s called a perpetual dilemma.
You can do this by making a Valentine's day gift guide. Break the guide into sections based on gender, interests, or personality traits like this:

Thanks so much for your constructive feedback here, this is really helpful in getting my store to a better place. I will definitely look into these and work on those improvements.
Hi Victor!
Do you also happen to have a few Shopify shops that can serve as a reference and that embodies your advice as you've mentioned above?
Hello @jasonjl192 firstly, your store name is one of the most creative I’m come across on Shopify and it is literally delightful, all pun intended. Here are a couple things I think you could add to your store to make it even better.
1) Get a FAQ page. This would help provide solutions to the curiosities that some customers may have about the store.
2) You could bundle products together as a means of boosting sales. For example, you could bundle a dog bed with a fitting dog pillow and sell it at one joint price. Customers tend to lean towards bundle products like these. To help with you with this, you could utilize the Bundler- Product Bundles App and you could even try it for free here https://apps.shopify.com/bundler-product-bundles
Your site looks great! I have 2 things!
One thing I would maybe suggest, is on your collection page as well as your product page. I would like to see what certain things look like right away on an actual dog without having to click back and forth..., I'm looking at "Merlot Harness" and "Beige leather bowtie"... It would be amazing when you hover over the image, that your second image would show on a dog, much like how brands show jewelry. I used an app called "Collection hover image slider", and when i scroll over the main image, it will show the second. So your first image is the actual product, when your mouse hovers over the image, it will show you the product on a dog. I think this would be a much clearer way to visualize the size. That was my first thought- I want to see it on a dog on the actual collection and product pages.
My other suggestion would be to offer gift cards, this way people could send the digital gift cards directly to the dog owners, and the owners would then place an order based on their color preference, size, and customized. I have many friends with pets, but have no idea what any of those dogs weigh... and this would stop me from getting it personalized.
Your quality seems great, and your images are gorgeous! Well done!
