Feedback for your online store from the community
Hey I’m planning on doing paid ads soon and I’d like some feedback on my website and products so I know if people will buy them or not. I don’t want to spend loads and end up getting no sales. Thank you
Here’s my store https://raylights.co.uk
Hi @Paige3man ,
This is Victor from PageFly - Shopify Landing Page Builder.
I have just had a look at your store. Your store is pretty. I have just some small things I'd suggest for your Homepage for a better chance of gaining sales. May it help!
1. Add a favicon to your store
Having a favicon for your store will make your store unique and help customers easily recognize it. You can check this article to know how to add it.
2. Improve your hero banner
The banner is very significant in hero material. It is the first thing customers see when they visit your website. Let's get consumers to know exactly what you're having in 5 seconds first. Your current images are pretty but I think we can improve it more, it's too big to show the attractive products at the first glance:
On the mobile version, everything is good. You can add a CTA to scroll down to the section you want.
3. Have a CTA button on the banner/ slideshow
A primary call to action button is one of the important things for a home page of an online store.
With this button, you will redirect customers to the page you want them to take action mostly. It can redirect to a collection page, or a product page, etc.
Here is an example:
4. Add a section about your brand story
A brand story helps customers understand more about your business and also helps your store look more professional.
5. Add testimonials - customer reviews
Besides, you can add blogs or reviews of your customer as testimonials. Here is an example of testimonials and unique points that are displayed on our page templates, you can refer to more.
Besides building attractive and powerful pages, you should spend more time focusing on marketing strategies too.
Good luck and have a nice day! Cheers!
Victor
Hi,
Its good to hear you are planning to start paid marketing. I have checked your prices and your store is ranking on google...See the screenshots above.
Are you doing drop shipping or you have physical inventory?
Logo: For Brand identity, you need a proper logo to represent your business as the logo needs more improvement on your website. It's a basic or important foundation for branding your business.
It’s important to note that your logo does not need to be exactly 410 pixels wide by 205 pixels high.
Add favicon icon here.
Front Images: Use good quality featured banner images with call to action buttons to captivate user attention. Use all images with good quality with the right dimension.
Homepage: Homepage designs guide your visitors around your website. To engage visitors you need to work on homepage layout design. Include trust indicators on the homepage. Homepage content should be strategically decided. You can add ‘Call to action banner’ ‘New arrivals’, ‘Top selling products, Most popular collection, announcement bar, Today's deals and offers etc on the homepage to engage users.
Add Blog: You know creating/adding blogs gives you a great way to generate fresh content on a website and provide a catalyst for email marketing, social media promotion to drive search traffic to your website.
Trust Signals: Show off trust signals and customer testimonials to boost conversion. Customer testimonials and trust Signals build customer's trust and help customers to feel more secure in their buying decision.
Improve SEO, links, usability, performance score for increase more conversion & sale (Your page could be better)
Checked your store with the Page insight tool to get the score. because the low mobile score can kill the website traffic.

Hi @Paige3man,
in my opinion:
- The background image for the "Rays" title is not high quality enough. Maybe it doesn't have enough contrast?
- I would probably position the "Contact" link all the way on the right side.
- There's a Chat with Us button, but when I click on it you're simply offline and I can leave a message. Instead I would probably show a Live Chat button only if you're online and people can actually chat with you. I would also create a Live Chat banner, that would draw in people (the more people that chat with you the better). You can learn from what those people say and improve your shop. And people who actually got to know you will be much more likely to buy something. In the past, I've used the expensive Live Chat Inc (https://www.livechat.com/), but tawk.to also works (free).
