Store Audit

Hi everyone!

I set up my store and I know the prices are high, but in general could I get some input on how it looks and functions? I just uploaded my first digital product and I'm hoping to grow that but I do have physical products through Printify. The store is: www.FatCatCoffee.store

Thanks!

Hello Sara, welcome to the Shopify community @FatCatCoffee  first of all, your site speed and navigation is pretty quick and easy to get around. Like you mentioned yourself, the prices do look a bit on the high side so it’s up to you to edit them a bit when you fully get into marketing your store.
In terms of suggestions, I would recommend adding a bit more design into the store background. There’s nothing wrong with having a simple design but being too bland might not be the best choice either- the sweet spot is somewhere in the middle.
You should consider adding a few FAQs on the homepage, customers tend to look out for them more often than you’d think.

You should create social media accounts for the business if you haven’t already and add links to them on the store homepage.

I wish you and your store the best of luck!

Emmanuel

Your store has a cozy and fun vibe, which is great for a coffee brand! 🐱 The design is clean, but consider making the homepage more engaging with a stronger hero banner and a clear value proposition like "what makes Fat Cat Coffee special"?

Since your prices are on the higher side, adding more trust signals (like customer reviews, a "Why choose us?" section, or social proof) could help conversions. Or highlighting your unique value (like the 5% animal rescue donation, awesome touch!) could justify them and build customer trust

Hi Sara or @FatCatCoffee ! I'm Tracy from BON Loyalty, the essential Shopify loyalty program app.

First of all, I love the concept behind Fat Cat Coffee—the branding is fun, and the idea of combining coffee with cat-themed art is appealing! It definitely has personality, which is great for standing out. I’ve put together some thoughts on how you can refine the store to make it even more engaging and conversion-friendly.

1. First impressions & Layout
The store has a strong visual identity, but there are a few areas that could improve the user experience:
- The banner is too large: Right now, the first thing visitors see is a giant image that takes up most of the screen, but it doesn’t immediately communicate a message. You could resize it or add a clear tagline in the center (e.g., “Coffee-Inspired Art & Merch – 5% of Profits to Animal Rescues”). This helps visitors instantly understand what the store is about.

- Navigation needs more structure: Right now, the menu is quite simple, but as you have both digital and physical products, it would help to separate them. For example: Shop All, Digital Downloads (if you plan to expand this section), Coffee & Mugs, Art & Decor, Accessories
This makes it easier for customers to browse based on interest.

2. Product page
Looking at the product catalog, there are a couple of things that could boost conversion:
- Product images feel a bit too digital – Right now, the items look like mockups rather than real-life photos. While print-on-demand means you don’t have inventory, consider ordering a few samples and taking lifestyle shots (e.g., a coffee mug placed on a table next to an actual cup of coffee). This helps potential buyers visualize how they’d use the products.

- No customer reviews yet – Since trust is key for conversions, I’d suggest enabling reviews on product pages. You can also add a “Happy Customers” section on the homepage later once you get some feedback.
- Highlight the value – Some of the descriptions could do more to explain why the product is special. For example, for the coffee, mention the flavor profile, sourcing, and why it’s worth $24.95 compared to a supermarket brand.
- If part of your profits go to animal rescue, showcase this more prominently! Maybe add a dedicated “Our Mission” page with details on how purchases support animal welfare.
Consider reaching out to cat influencers or pet bloggers to spread the word—many of them love supporting small businesses with a cause.

3. Final thoughts
You’re on a great path with a unique concept—now it’s just about refining the store’s layout, making the product pages more engaging, and using organic marketing to attract the right audience. Good luck!

Cheers,

Tracy
