Feedback for your online store from the community
Hi friends! I've been working on a baby and children's clothing brand and took a shot at building the website myself. I used the default Dawn theme and added a few custom codes. Would love to get some feedback on the homepage and product pages! Thank you in advance.
Hi @Pingfao
First, to say I really like your store. You managed to make it unique even if you are using a Dawn theme. There is a lot of work put into but also it is clear you put a lot of heart into it and it shows. Customers will like it a lot in general.
Now for some feedback. Homepage first and in general:
For product pages, not much to complain about. You nailed a lot of best practices there.
For the sliding cart, I am not sure how it looks with items in the cart. Link to the Enchanted Crown is fine if the cart is empty.
Also, the contact info is almost complete, would like to see the address too.
I wish you luck and a lot of sales.
Hi @Pingfao,
Thank you for your question. I have taken a look at your site and here are some of my recommendations that you can consider following to improve:
Enhance product images:
Build Trust and Confidence:
I also recommend some Free apps that I think will have several features to make customers eager to take action and make a purchase:
AOV Trust Badges
Finally, you should do some tests on your pages, navigation and payment to see if everything works smoothly. I hope my answer is helpful!
Best,
Liz.
Hi @Pingfao,
I am from Mageplaza - Shopify solution expert.
I would be happy to review your website and provide feedback on the performance. Here are my recommendations to improve the UX/UI on homepage and product page:
1. Improve promotional banner and section on Homepage
You should add seasonal banners for current promotions or collections (e.g., Summer Sale, Winter Collection) to catch the attention of customers. Also, please enhance the quality of video. It should display smoothly and clearly on both mobile and desktop.
Additionally, featuring sections like "Best Sellers" and "On Sale", New arrivals on the homepage can drive attention to popular and discounted products, encouraging visitors to engage more with your site. Here is a reference:
2. Adding Add-to-Cart (ATC) / Wishlist Buttons to You may also like
Making it easy for customers to add items to their cart or wish list directly from product lists can streamline the purchasing process and improve conversion rates. Here is a reference:
3. Improve search feature
You should make larger product images, show price and discount information, including size search, collection search, etc functionality to enhance search bar. This will help customers find their needs quickly, enhancing their shopping experience. Below is a reference:

Hi @Pingfao, I'm Tracy from BON Loyalty, the top-rated Shopify loyalty app.
I had the chance to explore your website, and I must say, it’s absolutely stunning! I’m genuinely impressed with your products—they’ve got me wanting to buy something for my own child right away. Based on my personal experience, here are a few suggestions that might help you improve your website even further:
1. Hero banner visuals: While the image on the hero banner is beautiful, it’s not very practical. It doesn’t immediately tell first-time visitors what kind of products you’re selling or the overall category of your store. Consider replacing it with a product-focused image or video to help customers quickly understand what you offer on their first visit.
2. Illustration alignment: The second illustration overlaps with information from the first and third, making it look a bit cluttered. Adjusting the layout might make it more user-friendly.
3. Full-screen offers: During my browsing experience, the full-screen offer felt a bit overwhelming. It left me momentarily confused about where I was on the site. I’d suggest shrinking its size and slightly dimming the homepage background when the offer appears. This way, customers will know they’re still on the homepage.
4. Image size and placement: The image on the right side is partially covering the text, and its size is a bit too large. I found myself scrolling up and down just to view it properly, regardless of the screen size. Resizing or repositioning it could help improve the flow.
These are just a few personal thoughts I hope will be helpful for you. Wishing you the best of luck! 😊
