Store design feedback please. Hoping to go live very soon

Hi friends!

Please help review my very first Shopify store, Bohemian Napsody, which specializes in affordable, high-quality baby clothes:

Bohonaps.com

Looking for feedback on the design and usability. Couple of things I'm trying to solve for:

1. Color scheme. Right now it's just the default black/white. I think it looks clean but also boring. Any tips on what other colors I could incorporate?

2. On mobile, the sub-menu doesn't drop down. It goes right to another menu bar. Any way I can make it a drop down?

Thanks in advance!

Hi @Pingfao !

I checked your store, and it looks amazing. For color scheme, since you are selling baby products, I suggest that you make your store colorful. Try the combination of pastel colors such as, pastel pink, pastel blue, and pastel yellow. Check this theme for baby products to have more color options for your store: Toyo Theme - Kids and Baby - Ecommerce Website Template. For mobile view, it would be best to leave it as it is as it looks neater. If you use a dropdown menu, it will look more crowd because of the smaller screen view.

Hi @SealSubs-Roan !

Thank you so much for taking the time to review my store. I loved your suggestion on pastel colors so much and applied it through out the front page. I plan on doing it with other pages as well whenever possible. Thank you again!

Hi @Pingfao,

Thanks for reaching out to the community. This is MooseDesk - Customer Support Helpdesk/FAQ App

Congrats on your store! Your store looks stunning. I can tell you have put a lot of effort into building this. However, I have some comments to make the good get even better. Here are some of my recommendations for better customer experience, please kindly check.

1. Color scheme:

You can follow this article to try to find a color scheme that best suits your brand identity. In my opinion, the soft pastels will really fit your store.

2. Revamp the Hero Section:

Use high-quality images in the hero section to clearly communicate what you are selling and highlight your products' unique selling points. Add an appealing hero description and a CTA button to attract visitors and increase their engagement time on your website.

This is the section I mention:

3. Introduce Product Offerings Below Hero Section:

Place a section right under the hero banner to introduce your product offerings. Provide an overview of your product lines to help customers understand what you are selling.

4. Relocate the Sales Section:

Move the sales section below the hero banner. In the sales banner, add a CTA button to direct users to your collection page. Incorporate a time-sensitive element to encourage customers to act quickly, which may increase conversions.

You can follow this example:

5. Improve Navigation Menu:

Ensure the navigation menu is visible on all pages. If you continue to use the hamburger menu, make it easily accessible as customers rely on it to navigate your website.

6. Consolidate Content and CTA:

Combine the content of your section and the CTA button within the same section. Separating them can make the organization feel disjointed to customers.

This is one of the sections I mention:

7. Enhance the Footer with a Sitemap:

Include a sitemap in the footer that links to all your collection pages and product pages. This will make it easier for customers to navigate your website.

8. Revamp the FAQ Page and Add Contact Us Page:

Update the FAQ page to make it more appealing and attractive to customers. Additionally, create a "Contact Us" page to provide alternative ways for customers to get in touch with you.

To address this, I recommend using MooseDesk, an app for creating unique FAQ pages for your customers. Besides helping you creating your FAQ and Contact us page, we also provide a helpdesk/ticketing system for your customer support.

Hi @Pingfao

Store Review
1. The black and white scheme indeed gives a clean look but can feel bland for a baby clothes store.

Suggestions:

  • Use soft pastel colors such as light blues, pinks, yellows, and greens. These colors are soothing and often associated with baby products.
  • Use a few accent colors for buttons, links, and important sections to draw attention. For example, a pastel blue or pink for the call-to-action buttons can make them stand out.
  • Consider using a light pastel background instead of plain white to add a gentle touch to your site.

2. The sub-menu doesn’t drop down but instead opens another menu bar.
Suggestions:

  • Check your theme settings. Look for options related to "Mobile Menu" and set it to "Dropdown" instead of "Sidebar" or "Off-canvas."
  • If the theme settings don’t provide an easy fix, a small JavaScript snippet can ensure that sub-menus drop down. You might need a developer’s help for this.

You can also improve your customers' on your website with Coupon Discount On Cart app by displaying available discount coupons directly on the cart page encourages customers to complete their purchases. Customers love feeling they are getting a deal, and seeing the discounts applied can reduce cart abandonment.

Key Features:

Simplifies the process of finding and applying discounts, making the checkout process smoother and more satisfying.

Eliminates the need for customers to search for coupon codes, which can often lead to frustration and potential abandonment.
Offer visible discounts to enhance customer satisfaction, leading to repeat purchases.

Feel free to ask if you need more detailed steps or further assistance!

Regards,

Ina
