Hi guys! I'm trying to grow my store and gain some sales - they seem to be lacking at the moment. Things started off well and then dropped off very quickly. 

Have a look through and give me some feedback - I'm trying to go for a simple look where you can access most of what you want from the home page.

Hope you are doing good. Your store looks nice and here are few suggestions.

Add a Hero banner with Shop now(CTA). It gives good impression when customer lands on the Homepage.

Make a Sticky header for easy navigation. It helps customer to access menu at any time they want.

Add Few products with ATC(add to cart) on the Homepage.

Include Blog page, Blog posting will allow you to show your followers a personal side of your business. In this way you can engage with Existing and New customers.

Add Testimonials or reviews on the homepage to build trust with the visitors.

Make Social links open on new tab.

Add contact us page with more contact details, on the footer section.

You can promote your products with word of mouth strategy. Boost your sales with the app from the shopify app store   which helps to increase your sales.

There is no terms and conditions checkbox at checkout. I suggest you to install an app from shopify app store which provides 'I agree to the Terms and Conditions' before checkout .As it makes easy for the customer to read your terms and policies.

Its good to have customer review option on the products, so that customer can write a review when they purchase any product from your store. Install Product review app from the Shopify app store.

You can also sell your products on Etsy marketplace as it is very good platform to sell unique, handmade and Vintage goods . If you are already selling on Etsy store consider our Etsy Integration app in the shopify app store. Etsy is a Huge marketplace for selling creative goods such as art & collectibles, crafts & supplies, jewellery &accessories and more,  if you have any unique/handmade/vintage goods in your store, you can give further exposure to your products.

Thank you for sharing! I browsed through your store and really like how simple you have designed it. It is pretty easy to navigate with little to no distractions. Good job! I can't really see anything overly bad with the store customer experience that could be affecting your sales. Maybe you need to focus your energy on your marketing, operations and ensuring your pricing is competitive.

I do have some suggestions to improve the customer experience;

1. Engage with your customers and visitors - I will suggest adding a Live chat, you want to reach out to your visitors and show that you're ready to answer any question they might have. If you added a Live chat that launched after 60 seconds of someone landing on your store that asks, “How can I help you today?”. The idea here is to engage and show your visitors that you're available to answer their questions.

2. Add a Quickview option on the products on your collection and home pages: Having a Quickview option on your collection page will make it easier for your customers to view more of your products. When your customers are able to easily preview and read the product details without going to the product page, they are more likely to view more products and which in turn can increase their chances of making a purchase. The Quickview should have all the details on the product page like a pop modal that can easily be closed

3. Make the main header sticky - so when a customer is down the page. They won't have to scroll up to the top to access the main navigation of your store. This makes it easier for customers to access the main navigation easily and improves the customer experience.

4. Add a blog to your store; besides the benefit, it will have on your SEO. Blogs are a very good way to share more ideas and information about your products with your customer. Customers are smarter today because of the numerous choices available today, they want to learn as much as they can about a product before making a purchase. Having a blog where you share contents that could be beneficial to your customers will have a positive impact on your sales in the long run.

5. You mentioned you have had sales already - but you don't have any reviews on your store. Reviews are highly invaluable in building trust with your customers and showing that your brand and store are credible. 

6. Show Estimated Delivery Date and Shipping Date - Many customers don’t want to wait until checkout to know when they’ll receive their order, and showing the Estimated Delivery Date helps users to estimate when they can expect to receive their order. Add the delivery-date estimate, or delivery-date range, within the product page, it should be close to your "buy" button. For example; “Standard Shipping — 3 business days. Get it by Oct 28”.

Hey there, @HouseAtHome

I respect that you want to keep your homepage simple. That’s something that’s pretty impressive, but I don’t know what your visitors think. Is that what your visitors want and expect? 

Do some A/B testing here. In one, add in a hero image (singular) with a strong CTA. Below that, highlight your top level collections like Living Room, Dining Room, Bedroom, Kitchen, etc. Use heatmaps, which show you where people click and scroll, to evaluate which one has stronger engagement. No one here can you tell the answer, but your visitors can.

Considering your prices, simplicity may not be the way to go for your homepage. Again, test and see what your audience is expecting and responds to. 

Moving on to the rest of your site…

Simplify your announcement bar
You’ve linked the text, which is great. However, it’s failing in that it makes it complicated. Usually an announcement is used to highlight a product that is on sale. So you would say, “Save 20% on lamps” and then link to the lamp collection because that’s the obvious next step in the funnel.

In your case, this distracts more than it helps. Remember that someone on your store doesn’t know if they are ready to buy.  When they see the announcement bar, it’s either going to be ignored OR it’s going to take them from whatever they were initially interested in to see if it’s even worth it. AND if that lamp isn’t their style, they aren’t going to be motivated to spend more. 

Condense your main navigation

Right now, you have 10 navigation options. That’s a lot. Usually the suggestion is 5-7 at max. I would do this: Home | Shop All | Living Room | Dining Room | Bedroom | Inspiration Gallery.

Again, use that heatmap to see where people are clicking. Highlight your top 3 collections while the “Shop All” gets to remain your master collection list. I also added an inspiration gallery. This would help them design a room with your products and sell it as a room style. Think like Pinterest. If you could style a room with your furniture and sell it as a group, you would make more and inspire others.

I would also suggest using session recordings, which show you everything someone did on your website, to see how they are navigating across your site. 

Add to your footer
Add in a shipping policy and a contact page with a short form (Name, email address and message). Make sure all of your email addresses are linked. Add value to the newsletter form with a deal or something to generate interest. They aren’t convinced yet to buy from you, so you’ll have to work harder to get them interested. 

Optimize your collections

I clicked on Living Room from your main navigation and selected Sofa. However, there are products in here that aren’t just sofas. Without any filters for things like color, rating, fabric, price, etc., it’s impossible to sort through your products. At that price point, I would expect it to be easier to find or highlighted in a more luxurious way.

Don’t leave shipping questions unanswered
Your shipping page is blank, but worse than that is that it’s left to be calculated at checkout. If I’m spending £1,000+ on a product that’s big, shipping is going to matter. If shipping is going to cost another £200, I may not be interested anymore. 

This is where live chat would help. Add in live chat to answer your visitors’ questions in real time while they are still on your site. Chat invites let you go a step further and invite them to chat if they’ve met certain triggers. It’s a win/win. 

Add more details to the product pages

  • I wouldn’t just use stock images. You need images of it styled in a room to help visitors see it in their own rooms and get inspiration
  • Add in dimensions
  • Instead of having two different products for the same product in different colors, combine them. Let your visitors pick instead of having to go between multiple pages. 
  • Add in care instructions. Everyone will have that moment when a kid spills something, and the first question will be “what do I do?” Help them.
  • Simplify the photos. I get different angles, but the different crops are interesting. I’m looking at the Aqua Velvet Chesterfield Sofa, and I would get rid of the images that are zoomed in and cropped. Because you have the option to zoom in on an image, it’s unnecessary. 
  • Add reviews. People want to leave their opinion, and visitors want to read it. 

Andy, you’ve done a lot of great work here. Don’t mistake that. I have visited your store and here are my suggestions. Hope that they are helpful to you!

1. Homepage

The first thing you should improve on your homepage is to make a sticky navigation menu so that visitors can easily access all important sections of your site. The constant presence of the menu bar reminds users that other pages, ones they probably need, are also available.

Plus, it is necessary to add a hero banner on your homepage. The banner is one of the first things customers see on your site so it plays crucial roles in showcasing what you sell and igniting customers’ curiosity about your products. A CTA button on the banner will lead customers straight to a specific product page and speed up their buying process effectively.

Moreover, I recommend you to put a Quick add to cart button on all your products displayed on the homepage. This tool will make it simple to shorten customer buying processes and lead sales quickly.

2. Product page

Adding testimonials on your product page will be a good way to build trust and credibility from new customers. The majority of buyers are concerned about whether the products they purchase online are as attractive and high-quality as they appear on the website. As a result, previous customer feedback might have a significant impact on a potential customer's buying decision.

I see that you have various types of products. It is a good condition to apply an effective cross-sell method which is product bundles. You can create many product bundles with discounts to appeal to customers. Most customers are willing to buy bundles to get a lower total price. 3. Add Instagram gallery on your Shopify Store

Hope you are doing well.

I understand how it can be frustrating to be doing everything right but still not getting your traffic converted to sales. You may find comfort in knowing that you're not the only one on that boat. Millions of Shopify store owners are facing the same problem. This is not because you are necessarily doing something wrong, but rather because Sales is an organic process, involving people getting to know you, visiting your brand, looking at your products, comparing them with others, and finally making the decision to purchase from you. So this takes some time, during which you have to hold on tight. But, you can't be just passively waiting for sales to grow, so I would recommend you look at these tips and see which ones you can use: You have great faith in your online shop, but why aren’t visitors converting?

Another Thing you could consider: Not all traffic is good traffic.

Traffic will only have any chance of converting to sales if they are being generated by the right consumer. If your product is for females under the age of 30, but your ads are being viewed by males over 50, that is a lot of traffic, but it will never convert to sales. So, before you spend on targeting, a good idea is to have a simple Google Trends search, that will tell you who is looking for the products you search, what is their age, gender and location. Then you can put forward some really targeted ads that are bound to generate clicks.

Here are some areas where you could consider working on

  • Add a sticky header. The headings are important to navigate the site. If the headers keep disappearing, it makes it hard to find what the customer is looking for. That is why if you make your headers sticky, the user can see them even if they have scrolled down, which makes the site more user friendly.

    You can also consider making your headings a bit bigger or bolder, so that they catch the eye more easily.

  • People tend to buy more from people they can easily relate to. If you share your journey, your goals, and your aspirations with your customers, it will be easier for people to connect with you. If you can create an emotional connection with your visitors, people are sure to buy products from you.

  • It is a good idea to place a banner on the homepage that tells your customers exactly what they are looking for. You may add a separate banner for each of your product types

    Also, adding a Shop Now button to your banner, which will take you directly to the relevant product page.

    It is a good idea to have multiple slides on your banner (each should stay for around 5seconds) for each product type and have the CTA buttons for each slide redirect the customer to a different product page.

  • People always don’t know everything about a product beforehand. When they see a product or show interest in a product, they want to know more about the different aspects and specifications of the product. If product descriptions fail to provide people with enough information about the product and fail to create an appeal for the product, the visitors won’t buy the product. So, provide elaborate and appealing product descriptions to every product to increase your sales.
