Hello all, 

I'm very new to all this online store stuff so looking to learn and get some feedback regarding my store (before I open, I'm aiming for mid May). 
I've been playing around with it and I'm curious as to what some of you guys think. I don't really have anyone in my social spheres that can provide much help and honest feedback is always easier to get from anonymous peeps than friends and family. 
Another question, I'd like to make my store available in several languages (namely English, French and Spanish) is there an easy way of doing this?

Hey! 

Thanks for the reply, I'll look at some apps I can add for languages. I'll need to reduce the image size. Are there any dimensions you could recommend?

Just checked out your store , looking really clean and professional so far! You're definitely on the right track. I'd suggest maybe tightening up the homepage message a little so visitors quickly get what your store is about, but overall, it’s a solid setup!

 

Shopify has a free app called Translate & Adapt that makes it easy to add other languages like French and Spanish. You can manually translate your content or use their auto-translate feature to speed things up.

Hi Tom

I congratulate on your store launch, the store’s look and feel matter a lot, you may start by double-checking that your homepage loads quickly, also check your product images too, also your main menu is super clear (think “Shop,” “About,” “Contact”). Ask a friend to click around on mobile and desktop and note anything that feels confusing or slow.

For more language support, you can Shopify’s built-in “Markets & languages” lets you translate your theme text into English, French, Spanish, etc. Or you can try apps like or Langify for automatic + manual translations. in That way, browsers will switch languages for visitors seamlessly!

- The vibe is clean and well-organised. I believe you want to keep it basic, so using the combination of white and black as the theme color is fine. However, you may want to consider using other supporting color to reduce the constrastness of these 2 colours.

- The color contrast here is a bit overwhelmed. You should also consider changing it, maybe a lighter yellow and black text:

2. Store engagement
- For a new business, building a solid customer base is essential for growth. To encourage someone to become repeated visitors, you should enable them to constantly be in contact with your brand, beside placing orders. Consider adding a loyalty program, referral program and post-purchase follow up.

Concerning the feedback on your store, I can give you two suggestions to make it better:

 

1. You can add a banner on top of homepage, to let users know your store sale activities or promotions news directly.

2. The Shop Now button is not clickable at the moment when I test it. You can consider making it clickable and redirect it to Collection or Product pages and make users feel easier to know what you sell and top products.

Concerning the store available in several languages, you need to do the translations based on each language at first. Install a translator APP from Shopify APP Store and finish the translations, then let Google know your changes and translations, this will be beneficial on your store.

With just a glance over the hero banner, I can decide whether to continue exploring a shop or not. At my first view of your website, the hero banner is being cut and there is too much space at the top. Therefore, I recommend that you optimize Hero Banner with the most captivating image of your products along with the decent layout.

2. Add CTA link for banner

I see you put the banner “Welcome to our store” at the top of the website that shows the very first touchpoint with newcomers. But for sales boost, you can add some stronger CTA “Free shipping from €50, 30% discount for first purchase” and redirect the link of product page/discounts/purchase, etc.

 

It could be more incentivizing if you add a timing countdown (20 hours : 30 minutes left…). Also, leverage Social Proof and Scarcity by displaying low-stock alerts (e.g., “Only 3 left in stock!”) to create urgency and highlighting recent purchases (e.g., “X people bought this in the last hour”) to encourage action.

3. Add Value proposition and testimonials to Homepage

As a customer, I would need more information about your brand to build trust and decide to purchase. Therefore, I suggest the addition of the:

  • Value Proposition (to differentiate your business) 
  • Testimonials (this is very crucial to build trust in customers) 
  • Final CTA button.

4. Showcase your Best seller products with discounts

I notice that you put all product categories and new products on Homepage, which could be saved for the Shop/All stocks page. Instead, Best sellers with some click incentives (discounts, number of sales, star ratings, etc) would intrigue customers to get to know your products and decide purchases better.

5. Add more illustrative images on Product page and offer customization service

As your brand offers unique and hand-drawn, it would be nicer to illustrate the products with that vibe too. For example, for a T-shirt with a monster, you could photograph/edit the images with the background vibe of mystery and in the set of partying.

Also, how about offering customization service for your customers? It even highlights your hand-drawn sophistication and enables the long-term nurturing of customers.

6. Add Live-chat feature

As you just start your business, it’s crucial to nurture each visitor/user to become your loyal customer. How about having a powerful live chat to assist potential customers instantly, addressing their questions or concerns in real time? This can help prevent abandonment and encourage purchases.
