Hello everyone,
Thanks for taking the time to look over this post! I recently started making candles as a part-time hobby and opened this Shopify store to sell them. (cloudeecandles.com)
I've only been open for a week so this may be premature, but I havent received and orders from anyone other than a few friends and family members. I have been utilizing instagram ads and google ads. I am geeting at least 100 visits a day but no conversions and the bounce rate is consistently around 70% +.
I know that I need to improve my product photos and I plan on doing that in the next few days but I was hoping you guys may be able to help me figure out whats going wrong and where else I can improve? Any feedback is appreciated. 🙂

First of all, congratulations on opening your store! That's a big step forward! If your bounce rate is high, I would focus on creating a visually appealing home page with high-quality images and banners. It would be good to check out other candle stores that are doing well and analyze what they have that you don't currently have. Another thing I have noticed is that the cloud-shaped candle melts looks great, but I don't know how it works -- how it looks like if I melt them? A visual description or a video would help quite a bit.
Here are some additional suggestions that will help increase your conversion rate:
Connect Social Media. If you already have a growing Instagram account, it would help to connect the feed to your main site, thus giving it more social proof. Research shows that 76% of customers buy products seen on social media posts. Also, Candle-making videos seem to be all the rage these days.
Influencer Collab. Since you have visually appealing products, connect with micro-influencers, send them some of your pieces, and ask them to create content for your social media and Shopify store.
Improve SEO. Make sure your keywords are well-placed and researched using keyword tools. Making sure that your site speed is good, and that your mobile experience is friendly. Also having influencers or other partners backlink to your site can help boost your rating as well.
Ask your customers! (Most effective for increasing conversion) When you have some converting customers, ask them how they found out about your shop. You can easily do so with a post-purchase survey app, and reward your customers with coupons/points to keep them coming back again. Once you find out your strongest marketing channel, focus more effort and money on that.

So a very important in creating great user/customer experience is designing a place where customers can easily ask about your product or feedback their experience.
Currently your store has not had such thing and it might be a pain point in shopping online cause there's nowhere to ask and receiver answer.
