Struggling with low traffic and no conversions

Dear community,

I have recently launched my online shop for sustainable products (accessoires, backpacks etc., made in Germany/EU) but unfortunately I am still struggling with very low traffic (only about 40 visits per day) and no conversions. I have launched some campaigns on facebook, google and pinterest but so far the result remains the same.

I am wondering whether there is anything particularily wrong with the set up of my store, which I am unable to see.

Hence, I am reaching out to the community for feedback. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated. Here is the link to my Online Shop: ecovibecorner.com

Thanks in advacne for any help!

Thanks

Daniel-D.

Hi @DDL10,

Thanks for reaching out to the community. I'm Tracy from BON: Loyalty Rewards Referrals.

I understand that you are struggling with gaining more traffic to your website. Here are some tips that may help you, kindly take a look at them:

1. Analyze Campaign Performance:
- Review Targeting: Ensure that the Facebook, Google, and Pinterest campaigns are targeting the right audience. This includes focusing on demographics, interests, and behaviors that align with people interested in sustainability, eco-friendly products, and European-made goods.
- A/B Testing: Test different ad creatives, headlines, and call-to-actions (CTAs) to see what resonates best with the target audience. Sometimes even small tweaks can lead to better performance.
Optimize for Conversions: Make sure the campaigns are optimized not just for clicks but for conversions. This might involve setting up conversion tracking properly to measure specific actions like purchases or add-to-cart events.

2. Content Marketing & SEO:
- Blogging: Start a blog focused on sustainability, eco-friendly practices, and the benefits of EU-made products. Regularly post high-quality content that answers questions or solves problems for your target audience. This can help improve SEO and bring in organic traffic.
- Keyword Optimization: Ensure that the website is optimized for relevant keywords. Use tools like Google Keyword Planner or Ahrefs to find keywords with decent search volume and low competition.
- On-page SEO: Optimize product pages with compelling product descriptions, proper use of headers, meta descriptions, and alt text for images.

3. Leverage Social Proof and Reviews:
- Customer Testimonials: If you have any previous customers, encourage them to leave reviews on your website or social media. Social proof can be a powerful motivator for potential buyers.
- User-Generated Content (UGC): Encourage your customers to share photos of themselves using your products on social media and tag your brand. Feature this content on your website and social channels.

4. Email Marketing:
- Build an Email List: Start capturing emails from visitors by offering a discount, free guide, or some other incentive. Use email marketing to nurture these leads and turn them into customers.
- Email Campaigns: Send regular newsletters featuring new products, sustainability tips, and exclusive offers to keep your audience engaged and encourage repeat visits.

5. Explore New Sales Channels:
- Marketplaces: Consider listing your products on eco-friendly marketplaces or other platforms that cater to sustainability-focused consumers. This can help increase your brand's visibility.

6. Community Engagement:
- Online Communities: Participate in forums, Facebook groups, Reddit threads, and other online communities where people interested in sustainability gather. Be helpful and share your knowledge without being overly promotional.
- Local Events: If possible, participate in local events or markets where you can showcase your products in person and build brand awareness.

7. Review Analytics:
- Google Analytics: Regularly review your website’s analytics to understand where traffic is coming from, which pages are performing well, and where visitors are dropping off. Use this data to continuously optimize your site and marketing efforts.

I'd suggest you to use marketing tools to track your website's performance and visitor behaviors first. This will help you a lot in finding their insights and find the right way to improve your strategies. I hope that these recommendations are helpful with you. Good luck!

Hi @DDL10,

I am from Mageplaza - Shopify solution expert.

I would be happy to review your website and provide feedback on the performance.

Here are my recommendations to improve your conversion rate:

Your website isn’t effectively converting visitors into buyers despite your advertising efforts. Without seeing your ads, I can’t offer detailed recommendations on your landing page. However, here are some suggestions from Databox that you might find useful. You can read more in their article.

“When the click-through rate (CTR) is high but the conversion rate is low, it usually indicates an issue with the landing page. This is often due to a lack of effective calls-to-action (CTAs). To address this, create a clear CTA, such as a "Buy Now" or "Read More" button. This CTA can be a clickable image with a small amount of text or a simple button.”

1. Monitor Your Cart Abandonment Rate

Additionally, a high cart abandonment rate can be particularly frustrating for your business, especially after investing significantly in attracting visitors to your site. This issue indicates that many potential customers are deciding not to complete their purchases, contributing to low conversion rates.

To address this, you can remind customers about the items left in their carts and encourage them to complete their purchases by:

  • Email Reminders: Send emails to customers who abandon their carts, reminding them of their items.
  • Incentives: Offer a discount or free shipping to motivate them to finalize their purchases.
  • For more detailed guidance, refer to an article from the Shopify Help Center

2. Improve SEO

Taking the time to ensure your web pages are properly optimized can help increase your organic traffic, meaning more potential customers browsing your products.  SEO strategies can drive site traffic to your Shopify website effectively.

For an average small e-commerce store, you should get at least 1000 visitors per month to start having a stable source for sales.

Here are some basic elements you should check:

Title Tags & Meta Descriptions:

  • Each page should have unique, descriptive title tags and meta descriptions.
  • Include relevant keywords without overstuffing.

Content:

  • Regularly updated the blog with valuable content on trendy topics.
  • Use headings (H1, H2, H3) appropriately to structure content and include keywords.

You can also check this SEO checklist by Shopify to learn more about optimizing your e-commerce store and blog. This will boost your online presence and bring more traffic to your website.

Besides, here are some suggestions about the UX/UI of your website

3. Banner

You should add a high-quality, eye-catching hero banner with a clear value proposition and a strong call-to-action (CTA). Highlight any ongoing sales, new arrivals, or bestsellers to catch customers' attention. Below is a reference:

4. Adding a FAQ page and expending the chat box

A FAQ page and chat box that includes more general information will address customers' concerns more quickly, encouraging them to buy your products. See a reference below:

5. Adding review section

Reviews from others will provide customers more information about the product. It will enhance trust and provide more information regarding the product. Below is a reference:

I hope some of my suggestions are helpful, feel free to give me any feedback.

Good luck!
