Hello. I just launched my store and I want to provide the best customer experience I can. I'm working on getting my sales channels up and running but my Google Merchant Center account keeps getting suspended. I've read this is a common occurrence amongst drop shippers but still frustrating. I'd appreciate if you can check out my website and let me know where I have room for improvement. Thanks!

Thanks for the list. This is helpful. I believe I'm good on on all counts except for using stock Images. I'll work on that part and appeal the suspension.

So I have just gone through your website and here are some of my thoughts about your store:

Plus points:

  • Your page layout is well-organize
  • Feature products are clearly presented on the home page
  • Sticky header allows easier navigation

That being said, I would like to give you some suggestions for improvement. Hope you find it valuable.

Have a favicon for your page:

Having a favicon allows users to recognize your site among many different tabs that they have. Furthermore, this will make your site look more professional

Homepage:

  • Make an outstanding announcement bar:

I can see you’re having a “Welcome to our store” bar in the top. However, the text does not stand out and it’s hard to be noticed by visitor. My suggest is having an announcement bar that has sale or free-shipping information with and attractive design.

  • Have a high-quality image for banner and add CTA

The background image really fit with the theme color of the site. The image quality, though, is not high enough. You might want to change it into another image that have higher quality. Having CTA Button in the banner will also improve your conversion rate.

  • Have a secondary hover image:

By presenting secondary hover images, customers can easily scan many products to see extra visual information.

  • Add average ratings for each product

​​You should include both the user rating average and number of ratings on the product list items. This is one of the crucial elements for users’ purchasing decisions. They will rely on both to decide whether they should explore further a product.

Hello. I'm receiving the "Misrepresentation" suspension but Google never tells me exactly what I need to fix. I keep getting vague answers and redirects to their policy.

Thank you! Those are all fantastic suggestions. I'll implement them and hopefully it will help with conversion when I run ads. I don't think it will help with Google Merchant Center though. I'm beginning to think Google Ads are a lost cause when it comes to dropshippers.

Thanks for sharing the suspension reasoning for your account. Similar to your experience, a lot of the time for other store owners Google doesn't share specific details on exactly what has caused the suspension, too. There's no specific way for this error to be resolved, and the final decision is with Google. In saying this, we've curated a list of steps that you can try, and this is based on our collective knowledge. So even if you've gone through the steps below and all boxes are ticked, there isn't a guarantee that the suspension will be lifted. But it's definitely worth a try, just to double check that you've gone through all of these:

  1. Make sure you've filled out Google Fields on all products
    • including the Google Category from the Google Taxonomy list
    • size, age, color, gender
    • add the product barcode (GTIN) if applicable
  2. Review the website and make sure you have your legal policies and contact page linked in the footer of your store. Legal policies should be fully customized to match the business. Ensure there are no mentions of irrelevant products – this is commonly seen when merchants don't customize the template from Shopify. Business emails should be customized too, for example, info@mystore.com instead of mystore@gmail.com
  3. Check that products have unique titles and descriptions
  4. If available in the your region, participating in Google's Customer Reviews program might help to build trust
  5. Review the Google Help Policy document on the error and ensure you're keeping in line with Google's policies
  6. Review the editorial and professional requirements from Google, and pay close attention to the section on pop-ups
  7. Grow My Store is a tool provided by Google that can asses customer experience on a website. Once the website address is added, you'll receive a personalized report with tips on how to address any issues found. Just a note though, that this is a third-party tool, so it's not supportable by Shopify but one that has helped other stores in the past

This help document from FeedArmy has also proven to be useful to some merchants too. Again, this is third-party, but definitely good for extra context. There's also another excellent help document from Feedonomics here too, which is worth a look.

From there, and once everything has been checked, you'll need to reach out to Google for a manual review to lift the suspension. This can be done through the Merchant Center account under Products > Diagnostics > Account issues, or by filling out this form.

Your store looks really nice!

I see that your business residence is in California and would highly recommend getting a GDPR/CCPA app.

I assume that you are familiar with the latest CCPA Do Not Sell Rule and think that such an is a must for your store.

I suggest checking the GDPR/CCPA + Cookie Management app as it is compliant with this new CCPA rule, it is also compatible with Online Store 2.0 and gives endless possibilities for customization.

We all know how important is for merchants to provide a seamless user experience and at the same time your store outlook to be attractive.

Definitely take a look at this app, I know that they will provide some great deals for BFCM as well.
