Feedback for your online store from the community
Just wanting website advice on anything i could do to make it better. https://vikingforgejewelry.com
Hi there Andrew @AndrewGarcia Here are some of the suggestions I have on how your store could be improved.
1) You should include a section for latest arrivals and place it just below the best sellers section.
2) You should include a Viking aesthetic video on the homepage maybe with some models wearing and using your products in it to make them look even more attractive than just seeing bare pictures of them. You need to really tap into the fan appeal of your target audience.
3) Get in some customer reviews as well so you can boost your authenticity level.
Hello @AndrewGarcia Thank you for sharing your website, VikingForgeJewelry.com. Your brand's focus on Viking-inspired jewelry is distinctive and engaging. To enhance your site's effectiveness and user experience, here are some tailored recommendations:
Website Improvement Suggestions
1. Enhance Product Descriptions
Your product descriptions are short. Try adding:
. The type of metal used (e.g., stainless steel, pewter)
. How the piece is made (e.g., hand-forged, cast)
. The inspiration (e.g., Norse mythology, Viking artifacts)
. Size/dimensions and care instructions
This builds trust and tells a story that Viking enthusiasts will appreciate.
2. Upgrade Product Images
. Use high-resolution photos with consistent lighting and backgrounds.
. Add close-ups of details like engravings or texture.
. Include a model or hand scale reference so customers see the size visually.
3. Optimize Mobile Experience
The site is mobile-friendly but can be improved:
. Increase tap target sizes (buttons, links)
. Compress images to reduce load time
. Consider sticky “Add to Cart” buttons on product pages for mobile users
4. Improve the Checkout Process
Make it as frictionless as possible:
. Enable a guest checkout option
. Reduce the number of required fields
. Display trust badges (secure payment, free returns, etc.)
5. Add Customer Reviews
. Include a review section on each product page
. Consider showing star ratings on collection pages
. Use reviews to highlight favorite products or bestsellers
6. Tell a Stronger Brand Story
Your "About Us" page could better reflect:
. Why you started the brand
. What Viking history means to you
. Your commitment to craftsmanship
This builds authenticity, especially in a niche like Norse-themed jewelry.
7. Strengthen Social Proof
. Feature an Instagram feed or customer photos wearing your pieces
. Add a hashtag for customers to use
. Embed social testimonials if you have them
8. SEO and Performance
. Use keyword-rich titles like “Handmade Viking Thor Hammer Necklace”
. Add ALT text to all images for better Google indexing
. Speed up page load times by optimizing images and removing unused scripts
Thank you 😊
Hi there, @AndrewGarcia. Just took a look at your Viking-themed store and the design is awesome: dark colors, runic-style fonts, imagery, video background, and most importantly, the products! There're a few small ideas I'd love to suggest:
1. Small texts, for example, on header menu or your 'FREE SHIPPING on all orders!!!' banner, doesn't fit the whole display nor catch customers' attention well enough. Consider adjusting important text info and make sure they won't miss it. Additionally, you can make the header and banner sticky all the time while scrolling for easier navigation.
2. Most customers love to have a discount, so it'd be great to have discount/free shipping/etc. label or badge displayed on specific product/collection images, etc.
3. Favicon is missing, you can easily add a favicon to your store using Shopify Admin page. Go to "Online store" > "Themes" > "Customize" > Choose "Theme settings" icon > You will see "Favicon image".
Feel free to let me know if you have more questions!
I have carefully checked your website contents and I feel impressive of your store design and patterns, which is quite great.
However, when I check the page structure under source code page, I notice you have two H1 tags on product pages. Normally, we have one H1 tag only existing on each page and multiple H1 tag will confuse search engines like Google, it will also affect the store performance and results displaying in search results. Therefore I suggest you further check this aspect and work with developers to make H1 tag exist once on each page properly. Thank you!
