What improvements can I make on my first online shop?

1. Move the call-to-action button (CTA button) to a more visually appealing location

The CTA button is currently not visible when first accessing the home page. It could be made more prominent to catch the attention of customers.


Enlarging and improving the visual appeal of call-to-action buttons would help to increase conversions.



2. Add more sections on your homepage

The homepage is currently too simple and does not provide enough information for customers to gain trust in your store and products. You can improve this by adding the following sections:

  • About us
  • Testimonial
  • Social proof

3. Show a collection list instead of overwhelming customers with a large number of products on the homepage:

I know you want to display all the finest products of your store on the homepage, believing that this will help customers easily find their interests and make purchases. However, adding too many products to the homepage can make customers feel overwhelmed.


Instead of showing too many products on your homepage, you can choose a few products that you want to boost their sales and show them on your homepage. Then, you can divide them into different categories and show each category at a time.


And, you can show a list of 3-4 collections to catch customer attention.


This way, you can still showcase your best products without overwhelming customers. The collection list will also help customers find products that are relevant to their interests.

4. Improve your page speed on mobile

According to Google PageSpeed Insights, your website only has a 54 score for mobile view. This is quite low for a store. 


PageSpeed Insights has pointed out some things that you can improve to increase your page speed. I recommend that you check them out.



In addition to the tips you've already implemented, here are some proactive steps you can take to ensure that you're fully prepared to maximize conversions for upcoming promotion campaigns, such as Back-to-School:

  • Offer promotions and discounts. Introduce attractive deals or bundle offers on your Back-to-School collection. Consider providing discounts, freebies, or exclusive student offers to entice shoppers.
  • Run an email marketing campaign. Leverage your email subscriber list to reach out to your customers with targeted Back-to-School promotions. Design engaging email campaigns that highlight your offers and encourage customers to visit your website. Consider segmenting your email list based on customer preferences, demographics, or past purchases to provide more personalized recommendations.

By taking these steps, you can increase brand awareness, drive traffic to your website, and boost sales during your upcoming promotion campaigns.

  • Sticky header is recommended, as it makes it easy for the user to directly jump to the menu at any point of time while they are navigating through the Site.
  • A properly designed and built hero banner can help drive the right kind of customers on your website. Consider a strong message that represents what next step you want your site visitor to do based on their needs along with the CTA button on the banner.
  • Growing your business with a business blog is a great way to market your site.Now that you have some traffic coming to your site through your blog, you have an opportunity to convert that website traffic into leads.
  • Expand your social media promotions and attach those social links to the icons on footer menu.Make sure that social links open on new tab
  • Update contact us page with adding more details, as it builds trust on your store.
