Re: Lots of traffic, but no sales.

Why am I getting traffic but no sales on my eCommerce site?

Hi Guys! I just started selling on shopify just last December. I currently have been running some Facebook ads, which have been getting me around 100 daily site views. I currently reached 1000 site views, but still. No sales and very low add to carts.
I don't know what I am doing wrong, I know my landing page is lacking testimonials, and I am trying to get them from my friends, because it's hard to build good reviews if nobody is buying.
Here is my landing page: https://drinksomma.myshopify.com/
I think it looks very profesional, but maybe i'm biased.
I also think the products are very good, but maybe again, i'm biased.
Please let me know if you have any suggestions for me!
Any help is appreciated.
Thanks!

Hi, just a few thoughts after having a look at your landing page 🙂 I find the first text a bit hard to read and a bit too long - maybe darken the background image to make the text more readable, and shorten the first text a bit. Also, text comes across as more professional and trustworthy without exclamation marks. And having read through the first part of your website I'm still not sure whether this is coffee or coffe replacement. I'm assuming the latter, but this should be clearer. It comes across as if you're saying it's coffee but then it turns out it isn't. Nice site though, I think it's the text content that mainly needs to be a bit clearer, good luck!

Thank you so much for the feedback! Will definitely work on that.
We just wanted to provide lots of information on our products. But yes, the text may seem a bit long.
Thanks!

Hey,

There are some design issues like white text on white background. I personally am not a big fan of the chosen fonts. I would also not keep the grey background - you can be much more original with that. As an app developer on Shopify, I also have to say that you are lacking social proof - no customer reviews. I understand that you are a new shop and cannot have any reviews yet, so I would suggest you try out the reviews app Platoria. You do not need any reviews yourself. The AI fetches reviews from all over the Internet and summarizes them so that you can display these AI review summaries.

All the best,
Stan

Thank you so much. Will definitely look into that.
Does Platoria offer reviews on the products even if nobody has reviewed them yet?

Well, if the AI cannot find any existing reviews on the web for let's say "Somma Mushroom Coffee Fusion", it will look for the next closest thing like "Somma Mushroom Coffee". It is rather unlikely that the product is totally unique and does not have any alternatives with reviews.

All the best,
Stan

Started advertising yesterday and am having the same issue. Constant 100+ live people on the website but not one purchase or add to carts. Wondering if your store has started to see success yet, maybe its just a good early sign that we're getting a lot of clicks.

Yes, you are biased. I don't think this site looks professional at all.

0. Buy a domain, anysite.myshopify.com looks underconfindent (if you are not invested, why ask for my money?)

1. Above the fold screen looks shabby. Why buy healthy / superior products from someone who doesn't give a damn about their products.

2. Logo is texty, which is not an issue, but it's not prominent enough (header). You are not walmart, people don't trust you especially when it comes to food. That big SOMMA bashing in your face, remove it.

3. Put up a background / product video, will do wonders.

4. The only thing I can see on your website is SELLING, without sharing and caring, why you should buy, who should buy. If someone wants to buy it, they will go on the product page, will add it to cart, and will proceed to checkout.

5. Some people added to the cart but didn't buy, check your checkout flow. There might be an issue.

6. If you are running fb ads, 70% out of those 1000 are spam (not your audience), and out of that 30%, only around 6% will buy. Now reacalculate.

7. You have a chat button, use it. Talk to the visitors, just automate, are you looking for something, can i help you, why you should buy Z product? Gather feedback.

8. On top bar, just use 100% moneyback guarantee | Free Shipping. That's it. You need trust before you can sell.

9. After getting 5000 unique visitors, still no sales, do a little competition analysis, check your pricing.

10. Still can't figure it out, find a partner, you handle operations, product, finance. Let the other handle marketing and sales.

That's it for now. Hoping, this is helpful.

Disclosure: I'm no sales expert but my opinion is as a costumer:

I will give you  some ideas about what could be happening:

a)  Your potential  buyers come expecting to find products which benefit their health

b) But they encounter Chaga, fungus names, but they have to enter to each product to find their benefits.

c) So the potential solution is to categorize  or find a way to communicate the benefits quick and simple, maybe categorizing, maybe including power phrases like "for enhance your virility" or "to prevent hair loss".

As a bonus, keep it simple  cognitive overload is something real, take into account that desktop web pages are dead, everything is mobile.

I really hadn't thought of that.
That is a new perspective, do you think the Fungus names are unpleasant?
Thank yoou so much for your comments!
