Feedback for your online store from the community
Hi! I would like to start by saying that I am very new to shopify so I could be missing something incredibly obvious but my store is getting lots of traffic but i am yet to have any sales. I have checked that the "Add to cart" section onwards works but no matter how much traffic I have got, I am yet to sell anything. I would love some feedback from the community of experts to push me in the right direction. I would also like to say that I have posted on the forum before with a very similiar post, but have dramatically changed the look and feel of my store since then (As well as the products). Thank you in adcance for any advice, feedback or comments you leave, I look forward to reading them!

While your site is lovely and well designed, I noticed you do not have links to any social media pages where maybe I can see what the lipsticks, for example, look like on various skin tones. All your make-up swatches are just scribbles on a white page. People want to see how the shade will look on them, real world swatches are needed. I would use live models to show off the make-up more. People can’t really see or touch makeup online so they need visual cues. Makeup is very personal and you have to reach out to ppl more online, give them a reason to buy from you when they know they can probably get the same makeup at Shein for less. In addition, this is just my opinion, but I would rethink those prices. $26 for a lip plumper? That’s what Fenty charges and more than what other major brands charge. Why would anyone pay what will surely be $30+ dollars after taxes and shipping and handling for a lip plumper from a brand they know nothing about? Now, I am not saying you can’t charge those prices, but for upscale prices, you have got to give your audience more, a lot more.
Good luck. Withe the proper updates, you can make it 🙂
Hi! I dont know how to reply to everyone so i apoligise for doing this individually but thank you so much for the feedback and the advice! I will be putting it all into action as soon as I can and look forward to possibly sharing my results with you all soon! Thank you again, I really appreciate it!
Hi @JayHallDesign,
I’m Theodore White from PageFly - Shopify Advanced Page Builder App. From my CRO expertise, I’d love to give you my suggestions as hereby:
1. Remove the overlay when hovering your hero banner
The overlay here seems to be a bit unreasonable as it makes the hero banner harder to be seen. Therefore, I highly recommend you remove it as soon as possible because it might affect the bounce rate.
2. Place a CTA button on hero banner.
Good thing is your banner can show exactly what you are selling. So let's imagine that the visitor is interested in exploring the product, what should they do?
My point is that you should have a CTA button on the hero banner. A primary call to action button is one of the important things for a home page of an online store. With this button, you will redirect customers to the page you want them to take action mostly.
So please add one and make sure that all CTA buttons should have the same styling to boost the conversion rate.
3. Have a title for a section
Please note that wording is important. Something starts with “Explore... ” would work. For example, "Explore our best-sellers"
4. Recheck constrast issue
The white text color does not seem to be readable with a light pink background of the button. Instead, it should be the same black as the text in the "Subscribe" button. And you should provide content for this part so the visitors can understand what the CTA is for.
And that's my feedback! Hope it helps you boost the conversion rate.
Cheers!

Hi the overall design is quite nice,
but despite what has been already mentioned I would definitely rework your product page:
1.) The add to cart button has such a light tone. My first impression was this button is inactive, maybe the product is out of stock. Others might have similar thoughts, which result in a high bounce rate.
2.) The price is very small. It should be a lot bigger so everyone knows exactly how much they are paying upfront. I do not know this market but one comment already mentioned your prices are not competitive. If your prices are too high, this might also be the reason why nobody is buying.
3.) No information about shipping fees and shipping price. Give people the information they care about, otherwise they drop off during the checkout process.
4.) You have only 2 images. That are exactly the same. Invest in different angle shots and lifestyle shots. Also show in your images your USPs. There are AI tools who can help you with the lifestyle images if you can't afford a photographer currently. Also keep an eye out on Google Ad's newest release, which is going to offer that for free soon.
5.) You have a lot of unstructered text. Break it up in tabs, like ingredients, how to use, etc.
6.) You're customer reviews are at the bottom but should be in a prominent position at the top. I know you might not have many at the moment but you should consider this for later
7.) I can't see any USPs. I mean you use word like luxurious and premium quality but in the end they are meaningless if you can't back them up. What does make it premium? Why is it luxurious?
8.) Your homepage banner has what seems like wedding rings on it and a cell phone. What does that tell me? Are you positioning yourself for the wedding niche?
I know this seems like a lot and I am sorry when it sounds harsh but you actually do have a quite good website. So I hope you can take some of this pointers and improve it.
All the best.
