Why am I not getting any sales despite extensive marketing?

Hello, I am very interested in knowing why after marketing, ads, campaigns, on 5 sales channels and I still have NO SALES? I have staff that help with marketing and making the beautiful website. I just can't keep putting funds out to see if I can get a sale. I post daily to all the social media platforms. I send out promotional emails. I have done hard work and many hours on this and I am exhausted 😩. Any feedback would help. Be nice because I bite. Fashionqueene.com

Hi @cajun_queene ,

I took a look at your store and the first thing I noticed is that it takes a lot of time loading, that usually deters customers.

The second thing you might want to take a look at are your stats on the ads platforms, what is your CTR and link CTR, what's the drop between clicks and link clicks, and lastly where is your drop. Do visitors get to the product page? Do they add items to the cart? Do they get to the checkout? Usually, that's a big tell on where is your issue on the website.

Lastly, an advice from one entrepreneur to another, it is good sometimes to take some days off from our projects to gain perspective. It is easy to get frustrated when putting in a lot of effort and not getting the expected results. Some days off might be refreshing and help you spot the problem.

Hope this helps!

Some things I noticed instantly:

- No logo

- Long loading time of home page content

- Buggy layout (there are some random arrows on a white line in the header, the footer is out of order

- No about page

- Covid disclaimer about delayed shipping times (outdated information)

- Instagram link goes to a personal page, not business page

- No clear mission, branding, or theme of the brand

- Pictures don't load on collection pages (at least what I tried)

You have to ask yourself, would you buy from a site like this?

Recommendations:

- Hire a designer to get a logo

- Hire a web developer to fix your site and make it look professional

- Make a strategy for your business (what is your goal, what niche do you want to operate in, who do you want to serve)

- Hire a branding consultant to get your branding / mission / social media strategy dialed in (or spend some time researching this and make a strategy)

- Think of how you can be different / provide value. Are the products unique to your brand? Perfect, showcase that and advertise. Are they dropshipped products? Then figure out how to differentiate yourself, why would someone buy from your site instead of another site or Amazon or ali express?

Hope that helps for some brain food to think about.

Hello Cajun_queene,

Thanks for reaching out to the community!

Here are some suggestions for you:

  1. Enhance Keyword Research: Keyword research is the core of SEO and shall be carried out effectively to see the results. To enhance the keyword research process, you need to do the following:
    • Understand the intent of the searchers and your target customers, to better research the keywords they must use for their research on the search engines.
    • Use ‘Keyword Research Tools’, like Semrush, Linkdex, UberSuggest, Wordtracker, and Moz, to check the effectiveness and competitiveness of the keywords.
    • Group the keywords for targeting the customers in the mid and end phases of the customer journey.
    • Target long-tail keywords, which are highly specific and descriptive phrases with low competition and search volume, but target the right set of audience and help in improving the conversion rate of the website.
  2. Optimize Title Tags, Meta Descriptions, and URLs: The website snippet usually seen on the results page comprises title tags, meta descriptions, and URLs, and optimizing these three can help in getting more organic traffic on the website. You can optimize them by:
    • Add a keyword to all three meta tags
    • Limit the length of the title tag to 40-60 characters, the meta description to 120-160 characters, and the URL to 48 characters.
  3. Optimize Images: Add keywords to the name and alt text of the images to help them rank better on SERP, and improve visibility of the website.
  4. Optimize Site Structure: It makes the content of the website readable and allows the users to skim or easily scan the website’s content. Optimize site structure by:
    • Ensuring the consistency of the font format of heading tags
    • Using visuals, like images, videos, and carousels
    • Organizing the content under different headings
  5. Rich Snippets: Rich Snippets helps in optimizing the website snippet for SERP by providing additional information about the website and its content, and making it stand out on the results page, which increases the website’s click-through rate. Enable Rich Snippets for the website, and include: Product Markup Snippet, FAQs Snippet, Home Page Snippet, etc.
  6. Link Building: Link building is an effective off-page SEO process, which improves the visibility and credibility of the website on the search engine; thus, positively impacting the website’s ranking on SERP. You can get backlinks by:
    • Creating and publishing high-quality content
    • Following the link-building strategy of competitors
    • Approaching related business associations
    • Collaborating with the suppliers/distributors/partners
    • Encouraging customers to publish testimonials on different digital platforms
    • Guest posting on blog-posting websites
  7. Submit XML Sitemap: XML sitemap makes it easy for search engine crawlers to navigate through the content of the website and follow all the URLs. Thus, it is recommended to submit the XML sitemap to the Google Search Console to optimize the crawling process, improve the website’s chances of getting a higher rank on SERP, and get a high volume of organic traffic.
  8. Optimize Page Speed: Page speed improves the users’ experience and also helps search engine crawlers to easily crawl and index web pages. Page speed can be optimized by:
    • Compressing images’ file size
    • Using a light-weight Shopify theme
    • Implementing AMP
    • Removing unnecessary JavaScript and CSS
    • Using GZIP for compressing JavaScript and CSS
    • Implementing lazy loading
    • Reducing the number of redirects
  9. Fix Broken Links: Broken links hamper user experience and the number of broken links on the website can impact its credibility and ranking on SERP. So, identify and fix the links by redirecting the traffic to the right location.
  10. Local SEO: Perform local SEO, if you wish to target the locals of a particular territorial region. Here are some suggestions for you:
    • Customize the website according to the expectations of locals
    • Use the keywords ranking high in that territorial region
    • Ensure consistency and correctness of NAP to enhance the efficacy of backlinks from local directories

Hope it helps!
