Why am I not getting sales despite high traffic on my online store?

Why am I not getting sales despite high traffic on my online store?

So I opened my store online in January and had about 300-400 visitors a day Until the beginning of February. I DID reduce my advertising, due to cost with no sales.
Now it’s March and I have less than 3 visitors a day, and still No Sales.
What can I do without spending so much on advertising?

Hi @LostSkull

This is Richard from PageFly - Landing Page Builder, I’d love to give you my suggestions as hereby:

HOME PAGE

1> Add favicon to your store

A favicon for your store can help customers recognize it and will make it stand out. Users can use favicons to easily recognize your site in a sea of open tabs. Also, they facilitate users' ability to locate your store in their browser history. Customers are more likely to recognize your logo the next time they see it the more often they see your favicon.

2> Invest more in bespoke product images

There are some angles for product photos: front, profile, 45-degree, back, and top. However, with your product, we advise you to shoot it at a 45-degree or straight-on angle to get the best packshot.

3> Have a Secondary Hover Images:

There are few strategies you can use for your secondary hover images:

  • “Lifestyle” Thumbnails:
  • “Compatibility” Thumbnails
  • “Feature Callout” Thumbnails
  • “Product Variation” Thumbnails

Secondary hover images will help customers see different views of the products so that they can easily gain trust and make Buying decisions without visiting the product page

4> Add background color to your footer:

Your footer's background color blends in somewhat with your theme's overall background color. To distinguish the material between sections, we advise you to choose a new color. As a result, the key content, such your featured products, may simply draw in your viewers.

5> Include direct links in the footer to the "Shipping Info" pages.

Users, in my opinion, need to know about the site's return policy and shipping choices before making a purchase decision. It might go in the footer or in this Shipping Details link. Users' need to learn about the return policy is directly linked to shipping information – how much would they lose on any non-refundable shipping expenses if they have to return a product? In fact, some consumers value shipping information so much that they want to know what shipping alternatives are available to them before they commit to purchasing a product.

PRODUCT PAGE

1> Remove all the redundant sections on your product page

There are some sections that haven't been updated with content and images yet; you could consider removing them or adding more information to make your product page look more reliable and trustworthy.

Having some unfinished sections like this will affect the buying experience since it will make your audience confused and not engaged enough since the product information is missing.

2>  Include Both the User Rating Average and Number of Ratings

When it comes to online shopping, customer reviews are crucial. PageFly makes adding testimonials and product reviews to your page an ease.

PageFlyRichard_6-1678328120827.png

3> Display a minimum of 5-6 reviews by default, with the ability to “Load More”

As previously mentioned, reviews are extremely significant when making a "Buying" decision; hence, showing 5-6 reviews as defaults will not only increase your brand's credibility, but will also keep the page responsive.

4> Add recently-viewed section

You might consider giving all users (including those who aren't signed in) access to a history-based recently viewed things list, and allowing them to change it.

For a variety of reasons, users may desire to revisit previously seen content.

For example, throughout both mobile and desktop testing, people frequently wanted to return to a product they'd seen before simply to reevaluate it after having looked at and rejected other options. Users will become bored and dissatisfied if it is too difficult to refind previously viewed things, and they may decide not to buy anything at all.

You could consider adding a recently-viewed section right below the “you may also like” section.

Furthermore, you can consider using a page builder app with a Shopify theme made for this niche to enhance your store appearance and increase mobile experience for customers. You can check out the following themes Blum, Sense, Dawn…

Hope it helps and happy selling!

Hello @LostSkull ,

We dived into your site and saw your great works with the site. However, we suggest a few things you may want to change to create a better customer experience and boost your sales.

4. Product page:

Seems like you forgot this section, you can add the testimonials here. People tend to make a purchase for products that have many reviews (include bad or good ones).

5. Pagespeed Insights:

One important thing that affect to your store conversion rate is the speed performance. If your site loading time is too long, people tend to quit and leave. You can improve the speed performance by optimizing the image files, optimizing your theme code and remove any unnecessary codes or apps.

Hope these can helps. Let us know if you need any further supports.

Hello @LostSkull,

I am Gina from flareAI app - free sales machine, and I am here to support you.

Having taken a close look at your store, I believe that the below suggestions could help drive sales.

1. Add favicon to your store which is a small square image/logo that appears next to a web address. Favicon helps to strengthen your brand and add a polished look to your website. See shopify help here
2. Add sections like 'New Arrivals', 'Featured Collection', 'Hot Sellers' to help keep customers updated on new products and give exposure to new collections.
3. Add product reviews as most of the customers read the review before purchasing the product. Even sometimes by reading reviews, customers may look to understand whether your product will suit their particular situation and make the decision to purchase the product.
4. Add social media for the store to increase the traffic. By showcasing your social media profiles in the footer, you can raise awareness of your brand and increase your online presence, making it easier for customers to engage with you and share your content.
5. Add a FAQ page to provide information on frequent questions or concerns
6. Make About Us more personal, likable, and believable so that, your prospects are more likely to be comfortable buying from you.
7. Add more detailed filters in collection pages to help your visitors narrow in on the specific product they're looking for and find products they might be interested in based on certain features (e.g. size, color, category)
8. Add average ratings for each product
Including both user rating and number of ratings on the products will help users to make decision whether to buy your product or not.
9. Add sticky header
Adding sticky header allow users to quickly access the navigation, search, and utility-navigation elements without scrolling up to the top of the page. They increase the discoverability of the elements in the header and the chance that users will take advantage of them.
10. Use blogging
Blogging is a great technique to increase the traffic and ranking of your website. If you blog consistently with high-quality content over a long period, your site will rank higher for specific keywords or topics.
11. Replace all theme placeholders with the right content

Hope this helps

Here are some pieces of advice I’ve been able to draw up to help you out-

1) There should be sections for newest products on the homepage. Since you are dealing with clothing items, this is a very important category to have for the benefit of the customers.

2) The social media accounts of the business should be linked at the bottom of the homepage.
3) Bundling products such as clothing items usually has a positive effect on sales in a store from my experience. For example, bundling together a nice face cap with a matching hoodie at one joint price tends to attract certain customers more than buying them piece by piece. To help you out with putting various products in bundles seamlessly you can employ the use of the Bundler- Product Bundles App. You have made mention of the fact that you have spent a lot on advertising already so it’s good news that you can use this app for free. The app is recommended because it makes everything around creating, editing, and even discarding a bundle very simple. Try it here https://apps.shopify.com/bundler-product-bundles
