Why am I not making any sales despite high traffic on my online store?

I have recently paid for a weeks worth of advertizing using Meta's Business Suite to post my ads on both facebook and Instagram. However after just under 5K store visits, i havent made a single sale, havent even made a single cart. I don't understand what i am doing wrong, i have added real reviews and tried to make my website look professional.

Any Feedback on this matter would be greatly appreciated!! Here is my store's link: Lightuplamps.com

Hey,

  • I think your design is fine to get the first sales - I would focus on other areas
  • The main area is probably marketing. Meta Ads have to be targeted hyper specifically to get real results. Think about the age of your buyers, where they are located - because otherwise, you will get 98% of your traffic from countries like Pakistan, India, Nepal, etc.
  • The reviews on the "Light Note" look fake, especially considering they were left on the same day. Since you are a new store and don't have reviews yet, try using an app like Platoria that provides you with real reviews for your products even if you currently have none
  • Besides that, I think you have potential. The lamp with the sand flowing looks super cool in my opinion, and I've never seen that one before 🙂

All the best,
Stan

Hey Stan! Thank you so much for your feedback. Most of the traffic i got was from countries in south america notably columbia and venezuela. Maybe you could help me with the following: I've created markets in shopify for where i want my ads to run, is is smart to include many different countries for my ad targeting or would it be better to target a smaller number of destinations?

Definitely less is more! Really think about where your potential customers are and then target based on that. Countries like Columbia and Venezuela are low-income countries, so it is rather unlikely that your customers are there.

So, really try to narrow as much as possible.

All the best,
Stan

Hello, cool store and I like the logo!

Here are a few tips:

- I'd move the CTA shown here to the top so it's visible when customers land on the page

-Consider making your header "sticky" for better brand exposure

-Make the 3 image collage on the homepage clickable (each image leading to it's product page)

-Make navigation menu items bold or larger so they are more prominent

-Add an "About Us" or FAQ page to your store, at a minimum one section somewhere explaining your brands purpose and the products it offers

Like another user mentioned the main issue is probably something relating to your social media ad setup. You need to be targeting the right demographic, it's one thing to drive traffic to your store, but they also have to be people who would actually be interested in your items. This can be tricky and take time and experimentation to figure out. Finally, anyone advertising online is competing with big brands capable of running large well made ad campaigns. It is very important to make sure you are running high quality, professional looking ads as well to have a chance at success. It is usually best to hire an expert to create and run ad campaigns. Here is an ad we are running right now, maybe it can give you some inspiration for your next campaign!

Hi @kpselect, it’s Kate here from the PageFly team - a Shopify page builder app.

Besides the suggestions you've already received, I have some additional ideas to further optimize your store:

1. Make the images clickable: When a visitor shows interest in a product, they can click on its image, which will redirect them to the product page. This could enhance customer engagement and potentially increase your store’s conversion rate.

2. Add realistic product images. If you don’t have any reviews yet, consider uploading real-life photos of the product, or images showing how to set it up for use. This helps visitors quickly grasp the main ideas about the products and builds trust.

3. With Valentine's Day approaching, consider creating a promotion or a dedicated section to highlight products that are relevant to this occasion. This strategy can draw attention to specific items ideal for Valentine's Day gifts, potentially boosting sales during this seasonal period.

Here is an example for you:

4. Create a policy section to enhance your store's credibility. For example, you can include detailed policies on shipping, returns, exchanges, and privacy. Clearly outline the procedures and any terms that customers should be aware of.

I am confident that these suggestions will aid in enhancing your website's traffic and conversion rates. Wishing you a lovely ahead, and all the best with your business endeavors. Keep up the excellent work!

Cheers,

Hi @kpselect, it’s Kate here from the PageFly team - a Shopify page builder app.

It’s great that you’ve come this far from your entrepreneurial journey. May I ask if you have filled in the title and meta description for your store? By doing this, you can decide how your store looks on the search engine.
