Re: No sales

Why am I not making sales on my MTB clothing online store?

Guys I have had my shop live now for over 2 months.  I have done a lot of work to it and in the process of optimizing the SEO which will take about 3 months.  We have already done the first month of optimizing.  I am running google ads, Facebook ads and have done a few TikTok ads.  I am getting around 150 visits to the store a day.  It is an international store that is geared towards Australia, New Zealand, US, Canada, UK, Ireland and Soth Africa.  It is  fairly small niche that we are in.  It is a print on demand store selling MTB Clothing, Accessories and Homewares and is really geared towards gifts for mountain bikers.  In over 2 months I have had 2 sales and about 5 abandoned carts.  I have setup a  Facebook page setup with over 300 followers now in 3 weeks.   Is this normal when starting a shop?  The shop address is www.single-track-dreamer.myshopify.com.

I have another shop selling air conditioning and accessories which is my main business which does about $20,000 a month in sales and has been live for 2 years.  I remember that it started performing in the first month.  Would like some feedback and help thanks.

Hi @Nigsampson,

This is Richard - CRO Expert at PageFly - Shopify Advanced Page Builder app

I’m glad to hear you have spent efforts in improving your store. From my CRO expertise, I’d love to give you my suggestions as hereby:

PAGESPEED

Here’s an analysis from PageSpeed Insights. In general, your page’s performance is quite low on both mobile and desktop. However it can be improved by following these ways.

  • Reduce unused JavaScript and CSS code
  • The website’s SEO can be improved by inserting keywords into your product title, product descriptions and blog
  • Optimize all media on your website

HOMEPAGE

1. Improve media to make them more high-quality

PageFlyRichard_8-1682299643007.png

This image is quite blurry, you should optimize or use the high-quality image. High-quality media is essential for your website as it enhances visual appeal, user engagement, branding, SEO, and social sharing. Investing in high-quality media can greatly contribute to creating an appealing, engaging, and successful website that resonates with your target audience and achieves your business goals.

2. Always include quick Add to cart buttons in product lists

It will save customers the trouble of having to click on a product in order to add it to their cart.

3. Add the Testimonial section

When you go live and have sales, you can add Testimonials. Customer reviews are proof of your product quality. This section will help you build customers' trust. You can show rating stars for each product or you can add customer reviews with both texts and photos to increase the legislation, like this:

PRODUCT PAGE

1. Style Product Price to Be Highly Visible

Without a clear price, users cannot evaluate a critical aspect of the product. You should place the product price in the “Buy” section and increase its visibility by using a large font size (similar in size to the product headline), bold text style, or eye-catching color.

PageFlyRichard_11-1682299642965.png

2. Include both User rating average and number of ratings

Many users rely on ratings and reviews to select products and displaying them right on each product in the first place can quickly build your credibility. For example:

Additionally, with Mother's Day 2023 fast approaching, also ranked as the third most significant holiday following Black Friday and Christmas, it is an opportune time to consider some compelling concepts for your business to take full advantage on this occasion.

1. Use colors palette associated with Mother’s Day

This kind of change makes your store more welcoming. You can refer to these pairs of colors:

  • Pastel Pink and Green: This color palette is soft, delicate, and feminine, making it a popular choice for Mother's Day. It includes shades of light pink, blush, and pale green, which evoke feelings of tenderness, love, and springtime.
  • Red and White: This classic color combination is timeless and elegant, and it's often used to symbolize the love and appreciation we have for our mothers. It's a bold and impactful color palette that can be used to create a variety of different designs.
  • Lilac and Light Blue: This color palette is soft and soothing, with shades of pale purple and blue that are reminiscent of springtime flowers and clear skies. It's a calming and peaceful color palette that's perfect for creating a relaxing and tranquil atmosphere on Mother's Day.

2. Offer special discounts

Create special deals during Mother’s Day event like bundle or 1+1 offer is one of the best ways to boost your sales. You can highlight them on your homepage to be visible as soon as visitors reach your page and make it easy to navigate through your product offerings.

3. Create gift guides or a special section with product recommendations.

Creating gift guides or a product recommendation section can help increase engagement and sales on your Mother's Day landing page. By organizing products by categories and themes, you can make it easier for shoppers to find the perfect gift for their mothers. Including product descriptions, images, and customer reviews can also help improve the shopping experience and boost conversion rates.

Good luck and have a nice day!

Warmest regards,

Richard | PageFly

Hello @Nigsampson,

This is Gina from flareAI app helping Shopify merchants get $6Million+ in sales from Google Search, on autopilot.

I have analyzed your store and here are a few suggestions for improvement.

1. The header slideshow is one of the first things that visitors see when they land on your website. By adding a CTA button to the slideshow, you are increasing the visibility of the action you want visitors to take.
2. You can add testimonials on the home page to make the store look more professional. Testimonials allow your satisfied customers to step forward and address the questions and objections that fill the minds of your prospective buyers for you.
3. Social media is a great way to grow your business, allowing you to tap into new audiences and gain more customers. Add your store social media links in the footer.
4. Adding filters in collection pages helps your visitors narrow in on the specific product they're looking for and find products they might be interested in based on certain features like size, color, category, price etc.

5. Add a section for product reviews as most of the customers read the review before purchasing the product.
6. Your product description should be detailed and evocative. The product description should provide visitors with important information about the features and benefits of the product so they are motivated to buy. Also, the light color text is not visible on black background.

7. Add average ratings for each product
Including both user rating and number of ratings on the products will help users to make decision whether to buy your product or not.
8. Make the header sticky
Sticky header allow users to quickly access the navigation, search, and utility-navigation elements without scrolling up to the top of the page.
9. I noticed you are still using the Shopify domain single-track-dreamer.myshopify.com as your primary domain. I would strongly advise to change the primary domain name (like single-track-dreamer.com) to clarify to customers that they are dealing with your brand and not with Shopify.

10. Add more specific product title/url in product pages.

Creating the perfect and more specific SEO product title/url can help the search engine understand exactly what it is you are selling and drive more traffic to your site.

Hope these suggestions will help
