Re: Visitors but no sales yet

Why are my website visitors not converting into customers?

Hello, I have been trying to make sales on my website for a couple months now and nothing seems to be working. I believe my website looks good and I have started to gain a following on Instagram. I started to run an ad on Instagram and it seems to be doing really well. I have been running this ad for almost 4 days now and I average around 1k viewers a day. The only issue is that these viewers are not turning into customers and I can't figure out why. I noticed my ad is being targeted only in India which is not a bad thing, the only issue is it is not being reached out to other countries. I believe this could be an issue since the ad is not being targeted to the right audience. I'm not sure exactly what I'm doing wrong.

Hi @Muhammad19 ,

I've just checked your store and it's really cool, good luck on your online selling journey. Since you have traffic but no sales, its clear to see there are some problems on the page design.

As a visitor, I can give some feedbacks,

- banners and images takes too much space on your website, so it's hard to find products

- you can welcome users with a smaller banner and list products with sections like best sellers, categories etc

- you can make some changes on navigation and highlight products & categories

and also you can run some campaigns to get conversion & retention such as bundle products, speacial discounts and etc.

Hope you're going to start selling soon 🙏

Hi @Muhammad19 Thank you for reaching out and sharing the details of your current marketing efforts and challenges. I understand how frustrating it can be to drive traffic without seeing corresponding sales. Based on your description, it seems there are a few areas we can address to improve your conversion rates and broaden your ad targeting. I would also like to introduce you to the Coupon Discount on Cart app, which can significantly enhance your promotional efforts.

Suggestions

1. Broaden Your Ad Targeting

Currently, your ad is only being targeted in India. Expanding your ad reach to other countries can help you tap into new markets. Consider analyzing your website analytics to identify where your existing customers are coming from and adjust your ad targeting accordingly. Ensure your ads are reaching the right demographic. Use Instagram's targeting features to refine your audience based on interests, behaviors, and demographics that align with your ideal customer profile.

2. Improve Conversion Rates:

Ensure that your landing page is compelling, with clear calls to action, high-quality images, and engaging content. Make sure the navigation is intuitive and that the checkout process is seamless. Add testimonials, reviews, and any social proof to build trust with your visitors. Highlighting positive experiences from your current customers can encourage new visitors to make a purchase. Create urgency by offering limited-time discounts or deals. This can encourage visitors to take immediate action.

3. Coupon Discount on Cart App:

The app allows you to display available discount coupons directly on the cart page. This feature can entice customers to complete their purchases by making them aware of potential savings. By providing visible discount options at the crucial point of the shopping journey, you can reduce cart abandonment rates. Shoppers are more likely to proceed to checkout when they see they can save money. Offering discounts transparently improves the overall shopping experience, making customers feel valued and appreciated. This can lead to higher customer satisfaction and repeat purchases.

If you have any further questions or need assistance with the app integration, please feel free to reach out.

Best regards,
Ina

Hello,

One thing that I could add to what has been already said: do you track which products are generating views (and no add to carts), which products have low (or high) conversion or abandonment rates. This visibility helps you as store owner to be able to take actions in improving the product offer, the pricing or other factors that in the end would result in an improved overall conversion rate. The devil is in the details, its important to understand your users and how they interact with your products.

I can recommend, that if you are looking to improve conversion rates keep in sight this aspect. Take a look at our demo (no signup needed) to have a better impression about what kind of measurements can be used to track, understand and ultimately improve your product offering and of course your store performance:  https://demo.datma.io/shopify/reporting/metrics/1416 - this a direct link to a report with all products that includes conversions, add to carts, abandonment rates, but feel free to look around what else is there.

Best,

Peter @ Datma
