Feedback for your online store from the community
Hey Everyone!
I launched my shopify store almost a month ago for personalised gift hampers based in Sydney, Australia.
I get around 100-120 views everyday but only 8 sales as of now so my conversion is only 0.22%
I am already doing targeted ads on Facebook, Instagram and Google but I’m not sure why I am not able to getting any sales even though my views on an everyday basis are decent I think!
Can I get some help with why there are such less sales and low conversion rate even though there are paid ads running and I have a presence on social media as well? Appreciate any feedback and suggestions you may have and thanks in advance! My store name is My Dream Hamper.
Can you send the store URL here? So I can take a look and see there's anything we can do to improve it.
Best,
Ellie

Hi Mydreamhamper,
This is Amee from Gojiberry - Shopify Survey & Feedback App.
I took a look at your store and I think it looks professionally made and very well put together. You have done most of the best practices for a Shopify store and I think it is a matter of getting more intentional traffic to your site.
I noticed that you do not have a blog for your site. I wonder if you have done any SEO / Keyword strategy overhaul? Ie. Trying to rank for certain keywords on the top page of Google. Or writing a successful blog post of some of the more popular topics your intended audience are searching. SEO optimization can be a powerful and yet free tool at your disposal to drive more quality traffic.
As for ads, if the conversion rate is low and your spending is high, you might want to revisit your targeting. Since your product is mostly gifts (seasonal, wedding, birthdays etc), targeting life events on ads could be helpful. If you are already targeting that, then check if you ad messaging is enticing or convincing.
I have also noticed that you have some bridesmaid's gift already. Perhaps also consider a much lower-priced, smaller-packaging wedding appreciation gift for the guests but with a minimum order? That way you can sell & customize in bulk.
Last but not least. Most successful businesses we know pay a lot of attention to customer feedback. Asking your converting customers may just give you the most valuable insights. One suggestion is to ask your customers "Why did you purchase dream hampter?" "For whom are you buying it for?" "What did you find appealing?" "What would you like to see in the next collection" etc. Collect open-ended responses and use customer intention to craft your ad & marketing messages.
Hope this helps!
