Feedback for your online store from the community
Hi All,
I have had my shop open for about a month and I have had a total of 1,540 sessions and ZERO sales. I've had 28 carts started. My shop is www.goodleshop.com. Any help would be greatly appreciated as I'm at m
You have a nice and consistently themed store. Good for you! Sometimes the traffic numbers are high as there are more than a few bots scraping and crawling the web. If you have seen success in getting carts initiated, I would think trying to follow up with these folks via email and maybe offering them an incentive like a discount or free product to go along with their already selected item.
I think you would also want to work on a robust marketing strategy as most of your products seem to be highly competitive and broad in terms of your niche. I think finding a good content creator who can create short form videos with your products might be a good direction too.
I also noticed you have an affiliate program set up. Have you had any luck with that?
Thank you so much for your feedback! I have Upsell ONE app installed with cart recovery emails offering 20% discount and nothing is working. I have paid for ads on Facebook, TikTok and Instagram, which is why I've had the traffic I've had so far. I will try content creation to add to the mix. The affiliate program has not worked either. I haven't had any signups so far and I've had it for maybe 2 weeks.
I will try to get videos created and uploaded and hopefully that will give me a boost. Thanks again for your feedback!
You're very welcome. I would avoid throwing money to Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok until you learn some more about your customer and audience(s) that respond to the content you put out. Think about your content as "ads" except the only cost is time and production. These are absolutely still costs, but it is cheaper than paying to post...
Keep a level head and make experiments. If you can track it, it will improve. Don't think it will come without significant effort though... You can do it!
Hi @DMarie76 ,
This is Richard - CRO Expert at PageFly - Shopify Advanced Page Builder app.
Your store looks amazing, and I can tell you've put in a lot of effort. I love how you have a hover effect where necessary (for product media, buttons) and showcasing a lot of reviews for your products.
I understand that experiencing low conversion rates can be frustrating. From my CRO expertise, I’d love to give you my suggestions as hereby:
I. HOMEPAGE
1. Have a professional hero banner
The hero banner orients your visitors throughout the entire page, so it is necessary that you provide more information of what you're trying to sell, your vision and mission for example, you can use your store’s slogan, add a paragraph of a short story behind your brand, or you can simply use your store's name.
This one is the perfect example:
2. Add CTA buttons to your products
When you display your featured products, you should take advantage of it by adding CTA buttons to encourage buyers to make a purchase immediately.
3. Show your policies
Information on shipping and payment should be made clear from the first place. You should include this information below the hero banner. When the customers actively know your policies, they will be more likely to make purchases.
Take this one for example:
4. Showcase your Instagram or other social profiles with clickable links
As usual, social media is one of the effective ways to get more traffic and make a good connection with your customers. Display social media such as Instagram and constantly update the feed.
It's obvious that you are showing this at the bottom of your page, but there’s no link directing customers to your social accounts. You should consider inserting links to each social media type. This shows your professionalism and serious attitude.
II. PRODUCT PAGE
1. Always show products “in scale”
Provide at least one “In Scale” image/video showing the product relative to the surrounding environment, human models, or other products of known sizes.
For example, you can add some real images of the product when being used by some models, or add a video showing how to use it.
2. Use swatches as selector for color variations
Users who cannot easily determine all the color variations a product comes in may overlook options they would prefer and prematurely abandon a product that could have been suitable.
Additionally, with Mother's Day 2023 fast approaching, also ranked as the third most significant holiday following Black Friday and Christmas, it is an opportune time to consider some compelling concepts for your business to take full advantage on this occasion.
1. Use colors palette associated with Mother’s Day
This kind of change makes your store more welcoming. You can refer to these pairs of colors:
2. Offer special discounts
Creating special deals during Mother’s Day events like bundles or 1+1 offers is one of the best ways to boost your sales. You can highlight them on your homepage to be visible as soon as visitors reach your page and make it easy to navigate through your product offerings.
3. Create gift guides or a special section with product recommendations.
Creating gift guides or a product recommendation section can help increase engagement and sales on your Mother's Day landing page. By organizing products by categories and themes, you can make it easier for shoppers to find the perfect gift for their mothers. Including product descriptions, images, and customer reviews can also help improve the shopping experience and boost conversion rates.
