Feedback for your online store from the community
Hello everyone!
I just launched my business a week and a half ago and the only sales I’ve made have been to family members or close friends. I’m not sure what I’m doing wrong. I have a pretty good traffic flow and have boosted ads on Facebook and have done well. A few times I had a couple of customers abandon their carts, or people going to check out and then never making the sale. I am just looking for some honest feedback on my page. Any advice or tips are greatly appreciated. My website is www.bohoedgeboutique.com Thank you!
Hi! I can see you following and liking my posts. I’m struggling with my Instagram.
Hey there @Boho-Edge23 I have had a look at your store and here are a few suggestions on how it could be improved.
1) You should cross check the check out process to ensure that is in order, that could be the reason for so many abandoned carts in your store. You should place an order in the store by yourself and see how it goes.
2) Get your close friends and family members that have patronized you to drop some feedback on the store. This would help boost the attractiveness value of the store.
3) Another reason for the number of abandoned carts in your store could also be that people fail to get that last extra nudge or push into making that final decision to purchase. One way to influence this final decision is to provide incentives for the customers. This is where the Seal Subscriptions App comes in handy, this app helps to assign certain types of subscriptions for the benefit of customers and to sway them into making purchases and to keep coming back. Hi @Boho-Edge23,
This is Richard from PageFly - Landing Page Builder, I’d love to give you my suggestions as hereby:
HOME PAGE
1> Create a sticky header.
Make your header sticky so that clients can immediately access the search tool and find the products they're looking for.
For example, if your customer is at the bottom of the page, they will have to scroll all the way up to find the search feature, especially on mobile.
2> Invest in bespoke product images
Some of the product images are not in good resolution. Great photography would clearly matter much more in visually-driven industries like fashion, where product aesthetics play a big role in the purchasing decision.
3> Add more Add to cart buttons
The Add to Cart button is the most critical thing we recommend you include. Users will be able to fill up their shopping carts in one session and then complete the purchase transaction without entering the product page. It will undoubtedly increase your conversion.
4> Add more top-padding for the footer
Padding is useful for creating extra room inside an element and maintaining a specific spacing between it and other website elements.
Padding can be thought of as the "white space" between web items. Your eye is more at ease while seeing an element on a page if it knows where to look, whether it's a button or a text box. What helps the eye concentrate on what is important is the empty space.
5> Have a Secondary Hover Images:
There are few strategies you can use for your secondary hover images:
Secondary hover images will help customers see different views of the products so that they can easily gain trust and make Buying decisions without visiting the product page
You may also add the following sections to your homepage to increase conversions:
PRODUCT PAGE
1> Include Both the User Rating Average and Number of Ratings
When it comes to online shopping, customer reviews are crucial. PageFly makes adding testimonials and product reviews to your page an ease.
2> Display a minimum of 5-6 reviews by default, with the ability to “Load More”
As previously mentioned, reviews are extremely significant when making a "Buying" decision; hence, showing 5-6 reviews as defaults will not only increase your brand's credibility, but will also keep the page responsive.
3> Increase the bottom margin of this section
Currently, this section is quite close to the footer. There is not enough white space to create breathing room for your design by minimizing the quantity of text and functional items that people view at once.
4> Add recently-viewed section
You might consider giving all users (including those who aren't signed in) access to a history-based recently viewed things list, and allowing them to change it.
For a variety of reasons, users may desire to revisit previously seen content.
For example, throughout both mobile and desktop testing, people frequently wanted to return to a product they'd seen before simply to reevaluate it after having looked at and rejected other options. Users will become bored and dissatisfied if it is too difficult to refind previously viewed things, and they may decide not to buy anything at all.
You could consider adding a recently-viewed section right below the “you may also like” section.
International Women’s Day 2023 (IWD) is just around the corner. With the theme #EmbraceEquality, here are some worthwhile ideas for you to make the most of it:
1.> Personalize your discounts and deals
You can offer sales, discounts or special deals to your female customers to make them feel more valued in IWD!
2. Show testimonials from female customers
You can show rating stars for each product or you can add customer reviews as text and photos. Additionally, featuring women's portraits with their testimonials would make it even more engaging.
3. Spotlights female staff
This can be a great way to enhance your brand presence as a brand that supports equality for women. You can even promote your own business if it’s women-owned as it is probably a golden opportunity for you to receive the support and promotion from others.
Hope it helps and happy selling!
Warm regards,
Richard | PageFly

Include trust indicators on the homepage. Homepage content should be strategically decided. You can add a ‘Call to action banner’ ‘New arrivals’, ‘Top selling products, Most popular collection, announcement bar, Today's deals, and offers, etc on the homepage to engage users.
Your store should be clear navigation. The store should have easy to access the shopping cart.

Improve SEO, links, usability, and performance score to increase conversion & sales (Your page could be better)
Check your store with the Page insight tool to get the score. because the low mobile score can kill the website traffic and lose revenue. optimizing a Shopify site for high page load speed is a major priority.
Compare your store with your competitors. Also, compare your product price with others. Also, check the shipping cost you are offering.
Google Search Console :
Is your website exist on the search result page? (Your brand name). If yes then it's good to see, google is indexing and the user will reach you easily. Unless your store is completely invisible.
If you are not using the Google Search Console yet, set it up now. Google Search Console report will let you know if your pages are indexed or not at all. If none of your pages can be found by Google, then it may have an issue, as this means no organic traffic at all. And No traffic means no Conversion.

Hi @Boho-Edge23,
Congratulations on getting launched! You've done a great job so far!
It's great that you have a traffic flow and are using paid ads. I can see a few areas for improvement on your site that should help you clinch those all-important conversions:
1. You need a stand-alone logo. At the moment the logo you have is lost in your slideshow image instead of being at the top, front, and center, for all to see (including Google, so you need a logo for SEO purposes😞
2. You need text contrast to make your store easier to read and navigate:
3. Simplify the navigation - it is possible to consolidate your menu items into dropdown menus.
I have a few more general suggestions in our Buyer Trust guide, however, the other crucial thing is content. You need a content strategy, sharing ideas, interviews, suggestions, reviews, fashion tips, and so on with your target audience. You will need to create customer avatars so that you can address your ideal customers in a conversational, relevant, and engaging style. Here is how you find your target audience.

Hello @Boho-Edge23,
Greetings! I am Gina from the flareAI app - free sales machine.
Having taken a close look at your store, I believe that the below suggestions could help drive sales.
1. Add CTA button like Shop Now, Buy Now in the Home page header banner or slideshow
The Call To Action(CTA) is a key element on a webpage, acting as a signpost that lets the user know what to do next. Without a clear CTA, the user may not know the next steps to take to purchase a product or sign up for a newsletter and is likely to leave the site without accomplishing their task.
2. You can add testimonials on the home page to make the store look more professional.
Testimonials allow your satisfied customers to step forward and address the questions and objections that fill the minds of your prospective buyers for you.
3. Use blogging
Blogging is a great technique to increase the traffic and ranking of your website. If you blog consistently with high-quality content over a long period, your site will rank higher for specific keywords or topics.
4. Add a form to the Contact Information page for better customer interaction.
5. A FAQ would be useful to provide quick information to help customers make a purchasing decision and also to reduce the time your employees need to answer simple questions.
6. Developing an optimal SEO product title and URL can assist search engines in accurately identifying your products and increasing traffic to your online store. Hence, strive to create distinctive and precise product titles and URLs.
7. Provide your website visitors with more detailed and compelling product description that accurately portrays the benefits and features of your products. This will help build trust with your audience and motivate them to make a purchase
8. Add product reviews as most of the customers read the review before purchasing the product. Even sometimes by reading reviews, customers may look to understand whether your product will suit their particular situation and make the decision to purchase the product.
9. Add sticky header
Adding sticky header allow users to quickly access the navigation, search, and utility-navigation elements without scrolling up to the top of the page. They increase the discoverability of the elements in the header and the chance that users will take advantage of them.
10. Add average ratings for each product
Including both user rating and number of ratings on the products will help users to make decision whether to buy your product or not.
Hope this helps
Gina
