Feedback for your online store from the community
I launched my shop at the end of February and have only made 3 sales and two of those were family members (which I totally appreciate). I share my site on Facebook & Instagram but I’m just not getting a lot of traffic. I feel like my site is good but now I’m questioning everything. Am I allowed to ask for someone to critique my site and give suggestions?

Hi @Simplyhope
Thanks for reaching out to the community. This is MooseDesk - All-in-one Shopify Helpdesk App.
Congrats on your new store and business. I had a look at it and I do think that it is well-prepared for a new shop.
I also have my own business and let me tell you this: 3-5 sales (even they are from your family) within 1 month is a really good start so you don't have to feel bad about it. You just need to keep on going by putting more effort in marketing - both organic and paid.
In terms of organic marketing, try motivating your buyers to share it online, create relationship with them and ask them more about their experience. Let the dedication makes them want to share your products around. Open more social network channel, for now I think TikTok is the best place to get traffic.
In terms of paid marketing, this mainly goes to advertising but focus on SNS marketing (TikTok, Facebook Ads rather than broad platform like Google)
With the right amount of each type, and persistence I think it's gonna work. You have the passion great enough to actually open the store, please keep it to continue 🙂

In terms of store feedback, I do have some point to make it bring better experience to potential customers. Please kindly check below:
1. Homepage
1.1 Navigation menu
You navigational menu is quite big now. It occupies almost half of the first display area (the first area customers see when coming to your store).
=> It should be smaller (about the size of the red rectangle I drew) so that the hero section could be wider, in turn showing more content.
1.2. Hero section
- This section lacks Heading and Sub-heading that describe what you are selling
=> Add Heading like: The greatest scented-candles ... could help visitors set right expectation.
(Remember to add keyword of your main product to make your site gets better in SEO)
Here's a good example of a hero section for you:
- Since you have many kinds of product (candle, wax, ...), I suggest make your hero image a slideshow that shows other products like wax, spray, ...
1.3. Add more section
You can try add more section so potential customers can be more sure to buy from you. Considering adding these sections:
- Featured product (showing a winning product of your store)
- Benefit of the product
- Social proof/testimonial
- ...
2. Have an FAQ page
I notice that you haven't had any FAQ page (a page that contain frequently asked questions like Shipping policy, Return policy, ...).
These questions are really important cause they make customers feel safe and more ready to buy from an online store.
=> You can create a FAQ page or a Help Center for this
=> To address this, I suggest exploring MooseDesk, a free FAQ builder, and helpdesk app. With MooseDesk you can make page like this
3. Have a support widget
So a very important in creating great user/customer experience is designing a place where customers can easily ask about your product or feedback their experience.
Currently your store has not had such thing and it might be a pain point in shopping online cause there's nowhere to ask and receiver answer. It might look like this:
If you want to find a FREE option for that, MooseDesk is a good choice. It's a customer service app/ticketing system that could help you do all the things I have suggested above.
If you want to give MooseDesk a try, feel free to do it and hit our 24/7 support so we can help you enhance UX experience.

As an expert/enthusiast in UX, I recommend implementing these changes to improve customer experience when scrolling through your store.

Please help me and let me know what I should change to make it better, I'm a newbie!
Hello Simplyhope,
congratulations on your shop launch. I can see your products are really low competitive niche where you can bring massive change on your sale. Just need proper marketing strategy. I can see you run ads on pinterest. Try to expand your marketing platform like facebook and instagram doing proper keyword research. Run ads on different platform and track the conversion. Furthermore analyze the visitors with anlaytics tool like google anlaytics 4.
If you need any analytical help feel free to ask.
cheers
Try reducing the size of your logo, it takes up a lot of space and thus makes the home page less user-friendly. Other significant observations for store optimization are as follows:
I hope you find these suggestions helpful in enhancing your store's performance and providing an improved experience for your customers.
