I've had my site for about 2 months now and have only had 2 sales so hoping to get some feedback. I have plenty of traffic to my site as well so should at least be getting a sale a day I would think... babiesandbeyond.co

Hi @BPayne,

This is Richard from PageFly - Landing Page Builder App. I would love to share my initial thoughts when browsing your store.

Homepage

1. Use high-quality images on your product page

Do you know that 40% of people respond to visual information better than text and 65% of people are visual learners? Using high-resolution images is a must when creating any pages on your store. So you should make sure that no 240p pictures are added to your pages.

2. Feature your top collections

I see you attempted to showcase your products on your homepage. That’s great, but don’t just stop there. You should also feature some highlight collections and redirect to the collection pages. This helps customers know that you have more products to offer and they still have a lot more options to explore. It looks a little something like this:

3. Add trust badges, tell your brand story

Your products are not everything, your brand credibility is important too. Using trust badges can help you with that. A trust badge section should tell the customers what you have to offer, maybe Free shipping, a Money-back guarantee, Certified products, and so on. There’re a lot of apps for trust badges you might want to check them out on Shopify App Stores. Basically, a trust badge section should look something like this

PageFlyRichard_2-1681349350390.png

In addition, it’s also essential to have a brand story section on your homepage. Tell the customers what you do differently, and why they should choose you over other brands out there. This will also help increase your brand credibility and encourage your customers to make a purchase. A brand story section can look something like the image below.

PageFlyRichard_3-1681349350017.png

4. Add testimonials - customer reviews

Customer reviews are proof of your product quality. This section will help you build customers' trust. You can show rating stars for each product or you can add customer reviews as text and photos. This section can also help you increase your conversion rate because reviews from previous customers have a big impact on your potential customer’s buying decisions.

5. Create a unique sign-up form

Having a sign-up form on your site, your customers can subscribe to your newsletter to receive product information, any sales campaign, etc from your store. Make use of your sign-up form and be creative with it, like adding a background image. You can take a look at the image below for an example.

PageFlyRichard_5-1681349350262.png

Collection page

1. Same dimension for product images in the same collection

Make sure all your products in the same collection should have the same size to create a polished look for your store

PageFlyRichard_6-1681349350511.png

2. Highlight the “Filter and Sort” feature

According to Blue Stout, adding button styling to the Filter and Sort selection on Collection pages results in a 16.3% increase in conversion rate and a 26% increase in the likelihood of customers using the sort/filter functions. Adding a bolded black contrast on an important Filter and Sort feature allowed visitors to get to the product they were interested in that much quicker. Less confusion, more user-friendly design.

3. Create an awesome filter

  • Create specific filters for the most popular categories. Don’t just rely on simple filters like price or date. You should think of what people really want to differentiate between various items.
  • Put the most important filters at the top. The list of filters doesn’t have to be in alphabetical order. Sometimes certain product filters are highly important to the user.

Plus, Google monitors how quickly and easily your customers move around your site. It also takes filters into consideration, since filters serve as a map for those customers. Since bounce and abandonment rates usually decrease with filters, Google will most likely notice this, meaning your SEO ranking can jump.

4. Add links to other best-selling collections at the bottom of each collection page

According to Blue Stout, adding links to your other best-selling collections at the bottom of each collection page keeps customers on-site, leading to a 17.3% increase in conversions. Redirecting to specific high-performing categories at the end of the page eliminates the need to scroll back up into navigation. Once a customer reaches the end, give them the option to narrow their search by linking to a popular category collection.

Product page

1. Create a FOMO effect

A recent test by the Blue Stout team shows that using visitor data helps increase the conversion rate by 42%. Creating the FOMO effect by adding a line of real-time visitor data next to the add-to-cart button can add major sales to your store. This sense of urgency makes your customer perceive its popularity, leading to a confident purchase.

PageFlyRichard_10-1681349349871.png

2. Provide a “Recently viewed products" section on product pages

You should make the most use of product pages by recommending other products that your customers might be interested in to increase your conversion rate. Also, you should provide a history-based recently viewed items list for all users (including those who aren’t signed in), and consider allowing users to edit it.

Additionally, with Mother's Day 2023 fast approaching, also ranked as the third most significant holiday following Black Friday and Christmas, it is an opportune time to consider some compelling concepts for your business to take full advantage on this occasion.

1. Use a color palette associated with Mother’s Day

This kind of change makes your store more welcoming. You can refer to these pairs of colors:

  • Pastel Pink and Green: This color palette is soft, delicate, and feminine, making it a popular choice for Mother's Day. It includes shades of light pink, blush, and pale green, which evoke feelings of tenderness, love, and springtime.
  • Red and White: This classic color combination is timeless and elegant, and it's often used to symbolize the love and appreciation we have for our mothers. It's a bold and impactful color palette that can be used to create a variety of different designs.
  • Lilac and Light Blue: This color palette is soft and soothing, with shades of pale purple and blue that are reminiscent of springtime flowers and clear skies. It's a calming and peaceful color palette that's perfect for creating a relaxing and tranquil atmosphere on Mother's Day.

PageFlyRichard_12-1681349350500.png

2. Offer special discounts

Creating special deals during Mother’s Day events like bundles or 1+1 offers is one of the best ways to boost your sales. You can highlight them on your homepage to be visible as soon as visitors reach your page and make it easy to navigate through your product offerings.

3. Create gift guides or a special section with product recommendations.

Creating gift guides or a product recommendation section can help increase engagement and sales on your Mother's Day landing page. By organizing products by categories and themes, you can make it easier for shoppers to find the perfect gift for their mothers. Including product descriptions, images, and customer reviews can also help improve the shopping experience and boost conversion rates.

I hope it helps and happy selling!

Warm regards,

Richard | PageFly

Hey @BPayne.

Thanks for reaching out.

I appreciate that you have included your online store URL for us to explore and provide feedback.

Looking into the store, I did notice that you are using the announcement bar to inform your customers of the free shipping offer on all orders. That is a great way to create a buyer incentive!

You have beautiful products in your store! What do you think about including a slideshow as the first section on the homepage? As this will allow you to showcase your various products. You could include your best seller or favorite product in the slides as an example.

I see that you have added a Contact Us page within the footer of the online store. You could potentially include the Contact Us page to be available in the header navigation. This can provide your visitors and customers with an extra sense of security when it comes to making a purchase.

Let me know what you think.

Honestly your store is great! Why are you not getting sales?

I do not believe the lack of conversion is because of your website. How are you marketing? What channel is your traffic from?

During your marketing campaigns, maybe instead of targeting conversions, optimize to build your email list. Have your pop-up offer some really good discount, like a BOGO item or 40% off. Try this for some time and get a strong 500-1500 person email list. After that, everything will be a breeze. You can upload that email list to advertisers and target people individually for very cheap. You can also send out offers and price drop notifications to your email list.

In my experience, re-targeting a 1000 person email list should have a conversion rate of almost 20%. Email is still, BY FAR, the most profitable source of marketing. EVERYONE checks their email. If you position right and appeal to your demographic, you will see huge success without making any major changes to your store.

Hello @BPayne,

We analyzed your store and found that it has a great design and look, but there are some minor issues that need to be addressed to increase your sales and revenue.

We suggest you work on writing well-elaborated product descriptions. Your product descriptions are the key to providing your customers with the necessary information about your products. Make sure to highlight the key features, benefits, and specifications of each product.

We recommend using consistent and similar-sized images for all the product sections. This will create a sense of uniformity and make your website look more professional.

Also, it would be a great idea to create specific filters for the most popular categories. This will help your customers to easily navigate your website and find the products they are looking for.

Adding more CTA buttons in the featured section, like quick add to cart or buy now buttons. This will help your customers to easily make a purchase without having to navigate to different pages.

Lastly, including a customer testimonials section will help build trust and credibility with your potential customers.

If you need any further assistance, feel free to connect with us or any Shopify expert agency.

Thank you for your trust in us, and we wish you all the best in your future business endeavors.

Best regards,

CedCommerce
