Can a standalone public app support subscription?

I'm thinking to add subscription for one of my public apps. But it's a standalone app living outside of the Shopify admin. And it doesn't include Shopify app bridge.

According to the docs, product subscription app extension must use App Bridge. To use App Bridge, the app must be embedded.

In other words, only embedded apps can add the latest subscription features?

That is correct.
