For discussing the development and integration of subscription-enabled shops using Shopify's Subscription APIs.
Hey folks,
One of our subscription app merchants is encountering the error:
INVENTORY_ALLOCATIONS_NOT_FOUND - Failed to create order. No inventory location found or enabled.
when our app creates a billing attempt on one of their subscriptions.
The product in question is in stock at the location online store orders are shipping from, and orders with this product have been successfully created before.
Has anyone experienced this error before / have any idea on how to resolve it?
(I've already reached out to partner support asking what situations cause this error message. They're refusing to pass my question along to the API team because we can't reproduce the error in a dev shop and we don't have the X-Request-IDs 😠 We'll have to start storing those, but in the meantime our/their merchant is kept waiting. Very disappointing experience with partner support.)
Thanks,
Chris
Hi @nortonch,
I'd be happy to look into this for you or pass it along to our team, if you'd like to provide some Shop/Subscription/Order details in a private message that we can debug with. The more recent the examples, the better, so we can find the logs and dig deeper into this.
Does this subscription have a Local Pickup or Local Delivery option selected? I feel like sometimes the gotcha is that there's some missed configuration or something got inadvertently toggled off when it comes to those 2 newer delivery options.
Thanks!
Josh

Hey @JoshArnold ,
Thanks for your reply here. The partner support agent had a change of heart and was able to pass along the error to the API support team. This was their response today which I've passed along to our merchant:
"The issue that is being created is because the merchant has disabled local pick-up. As this subscription contract is a Pickup in Store contract the merchant would have to have local pick-up enabled."
Cheers,
Chris
Aha! Glad to know I was on the right track with it being a Local Pickup or Local Delivery configuration issue 👍
I hope this helps resolve the issue for your merchant and glad that you had received a reply eventually.
Have a great week,
Josh

Hey,
I'm using Loop subscriptions and have a merchant with local pick up for their subscriptions, this error keeps happening even when no changes have been made to delivery options. @JoshArnold do you have a person I could contact about this issue? I feel like the subscription app isn't helpful since the error comes from Shopify.
