pull orders data from Shopify API with PowerBI

Hello,

I'm experiencing difficulties when attempting to pull data from the Shopify API with PowerBI. I am trying to use https://apikey:password@store-name.myshopify.com/admin/api/2024-07/orders.json, but I am unable to authenticate via PowerBI.

Interestingly, when I try the same URL from a web browser works and shows the JSON output. This suggests that the issue may be specific to the authentication process within PowerBI.

I would greatly appreciate any guidance or assistance!

Hi Jpadilla,

Have you connected with PowerBI to confirm if it's indeed a auth issue on their side? Alternatively you could use an app like Power BI Connector.

Hello Liam,

Yes, I have connected with PowerBI to confirm my auth is good. What is strange is that I can login using https://store-name.myshopify.com/admin/api/2024-07 (show htlm login screen) but I can't with https://store-name.myshopify.com/admin/api/2024-07/orders.json.

Note: api access via web browser (https://{apikey}:{password}@name.myshopify.com/admin/api/2024-07/orders.json) works ok.

btw - I'm trying to avoid the PBI Connector Fee (from $49/month).
