We are providing the Shopify subscription app.
Previously, Shopify doesn't send order confirmation email after calling mutation subscriptionBillingAttemptCreate API.
Recently, Shopify sends order confirmation email after that.

Thanks for reaching out to us. On Tuesday, 2021-05-11 we shipped a fix to a case where the Order Confirmation email was not sent when an order is created by a subscriptionBillingAttempt. That's why you're seeing the emails being sent now.

Notifications for order confirmation were meant to be sent for each subscription order, but this was unintentionally left out at launch. This was recently corrected so merchants now receive order confirmation emails.
