2 Shopify Stores Canonical Tags and noindexing for Google

Hello,

I was wondering if anyone had some advice for the following:

We have 2 Shopify stores that focus on our different markets (one store is for retail sales and the other store is for wholesale higher quantity sales). Both stores have been designed to appear similar to the customer, so that it looks like they are just the one combined store. Both websites sell the same products, but they are split into two websites to show GST excluded on the wholesale website and GST included on the retail website. The retail store is our main website that we would like to point all Google traffic and crawling towards and our wholesale store is primarily for our bulk buy customers that are familiar with the ordering process and are ready to buy. Should we look to remove any Google indexing and canonical tags for our wholesale website as I assume that this website is potentially affecting the ranking potential of our retail website? Would this be beneficial? Is there anything that we may need to consider before doing so?

We are trying to avoid having to put a login/password on the the wholesale website (we know this would likely hide most of the wholesale content, but we are not wanting to add an extra process for our wholesale customers as quite often a different person in their staff will place the order).

Any advice or recommendations would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks,

Kim.
