400 Error after adding 2-factor authentication. Can't login to store.

I recently added two-factor authentication to my shop per Shopify's request that it would be required to continue receiving payments. Now when I try to login to my shop I get a 400 error: Oauth error missing_shopify_permission: write_all_delivery_customizations, read_all_delivery_customizations

I have tried logging in on both Chrome and Edge with the same result. I can't get into my shop at all now. I need a fix to this asap please.

Thanks,

Michelle

Same here and I did nothing before. Guess Shopify is down?

Hi Michelle,

I tend to believe that this issue is happening due to some sort of caching on Shopify side, however, I can't say for sure.

Based on this other article, the recommended solution would be to report an issue.

Cheers!

Gabriel

I'm getting the same error message after logging in. Started 10 mins ago and I didn't make any changes. Maybe Shopify is just down. Have tried different browsers. Shopify mobile app seems to be working though. If the desktop site suddenly works for anyone please post a message 🙂

Yes, happening to me too...... anyone know what's happening?

This really sucks because I have an order to fulfill, too. I'm hoping it's temporary. So far it's working on the app itself on my phone.. for now. We'll see if it lets me fulfill the order in the end .

Same issue here, definitely something on Shopify's side since it happened to so many people at the same time

Facing the same issue.

However, I was able to get to the admin page by removing %2Cread_all_delivery_customizations%2Cwrite_all_delivery_customizations from the url that was failing.

RE: this post here

It worked!!! Thank you

How the h**l did you figure that out???😊

@LBCali Because the error message complains about the permissions "write_all_delivery_customizations" and "read_all_delivery_customizations" and these are specified in the URL. Removing them and giving that a go would seem logical for anyone with a technical background.

Looks like Shopify is aware and taking a look into it:

Glad to hear it's not just me. I panicked for a second. I hope it gets fixed quickly! My seasonal store opens tomorrow and I need to keep working on it.

Removing "read_all_delivery_customizations" and "write_all_delivery_customizations" from the url worked for me.

If you are receiving a message about different permission scopes, simply look for those scopes in the url and remove them. I imagine that will resolve the issue.

Edit: I would copy the url to a text editor. It will make finding those pieces of text significantly easier.
