Hi, I'm a fresh Shopify user and need some help. How can I get a delivery instructions box on the shipping page at checkout? We need customers to be able to free type instructions on where to leave their delivery. Do I need to add an app specific for this purpose or does it need a web developer? We're using Local Theme if that's of any use.
I can suggest you one app which can be more easy solution for you. Order Delivery Date app. This app allows your customers to pick their own date and time for their order delivery. Also, they can choose the type of delivery like local delivery, store pickup or shipping. Why don't you give a try to this app?
Hi there,
Veno here from Zapiet. 🙂
Our app Zapiet - Pickup + Delivery allows you to set up store pickup, local delivery, and shipping.
Along with setting up the app to show specific checkout methods (local delivery, store pickup, shipping), you can also enable the delivery note feature where your customers can type in their details. We also offer comprehensive customization for the checkout methods like date and time picker, cutoff times, blackout dates, and much more.
Our app offers a free trial of 30 days, so you can try it out and see if it matches your needs.
You can see our website here.

Love to know the answer to this also. Would be amazing if we can add a box either to the address stage or shipping in checkout.
Hi @Clancye I found out how to do this just this morning. In my theme settings > Cart > Enable cart notes. It enabled a 'Delivery Instructions' box in the cart page. I'd prefer it to be on the shipping page but this will have to do for now.
Agree the checkout would be much better for the customer flow. Thanks for the cart option.
Have a lovely day.
I agree that delivery instruction / safe place instruction should be part of the shipping address collection process rather than on the cart page, and should be made required or optional depending on the merchant's requirements.
I'm moving from Woocommerce and can't believe this isn't already included with each shipping address.
