Additional variant option without adding inventory kalles theme

Hello all, I need help with adding some variant options on one of my product page.

Scenario: I have "Color" and "Size" options on my product page which I list directly from CjDropshipping. I actually chose 12 variants and list them using the Cj app. The product by the supplier has cheaper options when buying in packs of 2 or 3 but they have them under the “Color” option in Cj.

My shop: Since this is not a good customer experience, I would like to add a "Package" option where they can buy in packs of 2 or 3, and not have it classified under “Color” option.

Issue: While adding another variant option “Package” apart from “Color” and “Size” after listing, and keying in 3 option values under “package” it actually increase my total variant to 36. I tried deleting the additional 24 variants but failed to do so.

Question is, I heard because of fulfillment using CjDropshipping, whenever we do anything in Shopify it would mess up the inventory, is there a way I can add an additional option “Package” in my store without increasing the variant as the total should be 12, or can only be done on CJ side, where supplier in Cj has to have the option “Package” apart from “Color” and “Size” so as not to mess up the inventory and setup.

Thanks and really appreciate any kind advice for this! Apologies if is a newbie question as I have been struggling with this for more than 2 weeks.

Hi @JeremyTl_,

To avoid increasing your Shopify variants and complicating inventory management, consider creating a 'Package' custom option using a third-party app like Easify Product Options. This way, the 'Package' option is managed within the app, and you can maintain just 2 core options (color & size) with a total of 12 variants.

However, please note that processing orders with custom options not provided by the Dropshipping company can be challenging, even when using Shopify or third-party apps to create these options. For products with custom options, you may need to manually place orders on the Dropshipping app after customers have made their purchases, as opposed to automating the process for products without custom options.

This process can be complex, and its feasibility may vary depending on the capabilities of your chosen Dropshipping app. It's advisable to reach out to the CJDropshipping app provider for additional support and insights into handling custom options effectively.
