Admin page login screen taking up too many resources, page slows to a crawl

Ever since shopify added that fancy animation in the background for their login and password screen for their admin pages and partner pages, it has been a nightmare to work with them. The animation slows everything to a crawl, creating input lags measured in seconds. It can take more than 30 seconds on chrome to input a password and do secondary authentication. As soon as i leave the pages with the animated background, everything returns to normal. What can I do?

It happens only on specific devices and versions of Chrome. I'm experiencing this in my Macbook Pro 2019 i9, with the Chrome (Version 119.0.6045.199 (Official Build) (x86_64)). It is very unpleasant, and I can't even log in to my account at Shopify Partners via Chrome. I also tried to turn off power saving mode and hardware acceleration (and other performance-related options), but I still had no luck.

I managed to solve this by toggling "Use hardware acceleration when available", "off" and then "on" again.

You can find this option in Chrome> Settings > System > Use hardware acceleration when available.

I am seeing the same thing, we have a lot of users on terminal services and its nearly unusable. Each letter typed takes like 2 seconds to display as the background keeps changing. Fix this.

The background is absolutely brutal, I'm trying to figure out a way to block it somehow. What genius at Shopify HQ was like you know what we really need on the login screen that people usually only spend a few seconds on? Big ol' animated background. That'll make them spend more time on our website!

Same issue here. Every time it's open my entire computer starts to crawl. Totally not needed and a horrible experience for any Shopify user.
