Advice on removing the Avada SEO App

Hi All,

We have a night experience with the Avada SEO app, and their support, and need to remove it. The app severely damaged our SEO rankings (like dropping 20+ positions or disappearing all together) when we installed it. The Avada support people were zero help resolving the problems and with help uninstalling the app. We have heard multiple horror stories about pieces of code being left behind after the uninstalling the app and creating even more problems. We want to get the app removed asap, but are concerned about the damaging our site rankings even more. 

Any guidance or advice would be greatly appreciated.

Despite providing you with detailed explanations about everything and even help you with direct check on GSC, we have not received confirmation from you. Our app is utilized by hundreds of merchants, all of whom have seen positive SEO results.

Prior to this, you made changes to your many URL and robot.txt file without researching beforehand and knowledge about it. I want to emphasize that our support team is available 24/7 to address any customer concerns, and we welcome any questions you may have. Additionally, we have comprehensive guides and a help desk available, which you may not have explored.

Furthermore, we have followed up with you via email regarding the removal of the app code, but we have not received a response.

This is not the forum to defend your company and products issues and lack of support. It is for technical Q&A. All of our claims are fully documented and Shopify has verified  the Avada app was the root cause. Your company had plenty of time and opportunities to resolve the issues we have brought to your attention. Additionally, we are not the first company that has had issues with your company and products.

This forum is to discuss and resolve technical issues. You should consider using it appropriately.

Hello Daisy,

We have already provided your company with multiple reports to verify that your app as the cause of the problems. The fact that you and representatives from your company keep sidestepping accountability and shifting the blame is disturbing. The statements you made in response to our request for help on this forum are blatant lies. Again, it is all documented. We are not the only company that has had its website SEO severely damaged by your company's app. Just look at the recent complaints about your app on the Shopify App store. The 4.9-star rating on the Shopify App store is bogus and needs to be corrected to reflect the true capabilities of your app and support team.

Did you get this resolved? Im trying to remove it as well. After uninstalling it, there's tons of js code still all over the place. My ranking dropped 50% as well

Do not believe that they will help remove code. We went back and forth with Avada for a month to get their app removed after it wrecked our SEO. They kept sidestepping the request. We even specifically asked for steps to remove orphaned code, but their response was simply uninstalling the app would remove the code. That is not the case at all. We keep finding pieces of code left behind after the uninstall. All of our claims are fully documented.

No resolution yet. We uninstalled the Avada app and, contrary to what they claim, we are left with pieces of their code everywhere. It's like a virus. We have had to go back and re-index our entire site with Google to try and reinstate our previous rankings. Don't believe what they say about helping remove code. They will not and their support people do not know what they're doing. We spent a month trying to get them to help but they kept blaming us for the issues. Additionally, shortly after installing the Avada app, three separate websites popped up with variations of our url and our content including items with our logo. We did a whois search on the sites and they are hosted at Webnic which is in the same general area as Avada. We had read that Avada shares customer information and this seems to back up what people are saying. After receiving a cease and desist email for each website for copyright infringement, Webnic's "customer" expects us to pay them for the domains. We have had to file a case with IC3 and the FBI against Webnic.
