I have been creating POD products on Printify and publishing them to my Shopify store.
I published 50+ products with no issues.
Suddenly, ever since yesterday, every product I have published has this strange bug where it shows all variants as SOLD OUT on my Shopify store front, despite the back end showing the correct stock availability.
I spent over 2 hours on live customer support yesterday with both Shopify and Printify and did not get a fix. Still trying to figure out this MAJOR ISSUE. They were unable to troubleshoot. I also did a lot of research online to try to follow the steps of people that had similar issues, to no avail.
It does not matter which product or provider I use on the printify end. No matter what, any new product I publish shows on my store as sold out.
Any suggestions?

I'm having the same issue. It looks like a recent bug because I already have 70+ items on my store that synced just fine. Now I'm adding new items but these are showing as sold out.
The fix that I found is editing the product's "stocked at". Removed Printify, click save then refresh the product page. Once it's showing in stock revert the "stocked at" back to Printify.
FOLLOW UP:
I have been given a "fix" to add quantities to each variant. Which is a viable workaround to make the SOLD OUT bug go away.
HOWEVER, I find this problematic as it does not actually solve the real issue behind the bug.
How do I know? Because I didn't have to do that with any of the 40+ products that I successfully published without issue. So entering quantities might be necessary to get new products to work. But it shouldn't be. I have several products not showing the bug, which I did not have to add quantities to. Anybody want to address this?
I also am facing the same issue but the problem is if i put my quantity on the variants and lets say printify doesn't have enough on hand to meet the quantity amount that I put
exactly. I have no way of knowing how many of each variant that Printify has on hand. Printify providers are supposed to track their inventory. we're putting an amount and hoping they have at least that many. I told my customer support agent this, and that even though we've found a workaround, it still needs to be escalated so they can fix the actual root of the problem.
I’m also having the same issue. I chatted in with support twice and I requested for a sync. I’m hoping that this might resolve it and they told me that it might take between 4-48 hours to possibly resolve. Seeing that others are experiencing this seems like it’s a bug or integration issue on either Shopify or Printify’s end. I’ll likely bring this up to support and let them know I’m not the only one experiencing this issue. Hopefully they’ll be able to find the root of it and get it fixed.
I'm having the exact same issue. 70+ products listed in the last month, and today two new listings are stuck as sold out. I see your follow-up post, how were you able to manually change the inventory quantities? On Shopify its "greyed out" and it's set as "All in stock" on Printify. I can't find anywhere to manually input the quantities. Any help with your workaround?
go to your products. select product. click on a variant which will bring up an information page. there is a checkbox for "track quantity", select that box and hit "save". Now go back to the product and you should be able to input a quantity into that box now. It will be extremely tedious doing that for each variant if you have a lot of them, but at least it gets rid of the bug.
This is the work around I used as well. I talked to Shopify Support and they are going to bring this issue up with the Printify Development team so hopefully they will get the message and fix this ASAP.
that's great news! Yeah this workaround works to remove the bug, but there is an even better workaround that Timbangjc found which I have selected as the accepted solution to this problem!

Hello! I'm new to Shopify...can you help me with this because i can't find it!
You need to do a bulk edit. Click the "columns" on the top right and you'll see the "stocked at" in the "inventory" section.
interesting. I'm going to try this. What option did you select instead of Printify? I have "Printify" or "Multiple Locations", does yours have a different option? I'll try "multiple locations" and then switch back and see what it does
This works and seems like the best way to fix it right now. It removes the bug and keeps us from having to enter quantities for products
Works great unless you have over 1000 variations spread out across your products. Then it's an "I'll just wait till shopify fixes this issue" 😉
Thats where im at right now and its so aggervating. this needs a ix ASAP
Once I removed Printify all the products stopped being sold out, but as soon as I changed them back to printify they all went back to sold out. /another interesting thing is the few items that were not sold out went to sold out as soon as printify was removed from stocked at and came back in stock when printify was added back. It is super frustrating as we are in the third day of this being broken.

This does work for now. It is time consuming but at least there is one option.
Hi there - thanks for the solve. Is this in Shopify or within Printify? Also, can you tell me where the “stocked at” is located?
Thanks for the help!
Printify's support said that their tech team is working on fixing this now. Unfortunately, they don't have a precise estimate time-wise but said that this is being prioritized over other things.
I'm having the same issue. Hoping this gets resolved quickly.
Great news that they are working on it!
Is this a printify issue or a shopify issue? Nothing seems to work and every item i create in printify shows in stock...while shopify shows out of stock on every single variant.
I have spoke to both organizations support and they both say it is a printify issue. I just want my store operational
Have we fixed this yet? Nearly my entire store is showing sold out....Which all o the products are in stock. Im having trouble moving my printify stock to Shopify so i can just do it manually. is this possible? should I wait or for this bug to its itself or what?
If I were you I would definitely wait. Should be 48hours turnaround time tops. I don't think it will take long tbh they have some of the best programmers money can buy. I'm having the same issue but i'm gonna wait cos it's a lot of work to do only for them to do it and solve the problem.
same issue here. Glad to know it’s being worked on. It took me several hours to figure out the work around as mentioned below.
what is your store name iam also saleing iphone cases try to uses theme it free also great them i found
I have been facing this problem for 3 days. I tried to connect with their customer support but was not satisfied with their advice. I have 310 products, each with 13 variants. I cannot change all of them manually. After being frustrated for 3 days, I wrote an email to the CEO of Printify. Below is her response.”
Dear Anastasija Oleinika,
I hope this finds you well. Mahamood owner of Decco, a mobile case brand. We are experiencing a major issue with Printify: new products published to Shopify show as "sold out," and some older products also incorrectly display as sold out despite adequate inventory.
Printify support suggested manually updating inventory, but this is unfeasible for our 70+ products, each with 11 variants. This problem has halted our store's sales for two days.
For your better understanding, we have attached some screenshots of our store showing the problem. Additionally, other store owners have reported similar issues in the Shopify community, as seen in their tweets.
We urgently need a technical solution to fix this synchronization issue.
Thank you for your immediate attention.
Best regards,
[Mahamood]
I could have swore when i opened the Prinitify account there was an option for them to track inventory or I. I haven't found a setting to turn this off yet google claims there is. Is there someway to do this? As a quick fix for current products i disconnected the shop and reconnected and copied over, then I had to remove all the doubles.... Dont want to do it Again. If there was someway to do this I feel like that would be it.
I can't find it and even switching items to continue selling when out of stock does not resolve the issue
I spoke to a printify agent on live chat last night and they said the issue is widespread and is actively being looked into so hopefully we all have a resolution asap. What they did advise me to do was to add '9999' to every single variant of each design and that will temporarily sort the problem out. However, this is only a short term solution - it doesn't address the ongoing issue as we have to manually edit the quantities which defeats the whole object of shopify and printify merging in the first place. It's a joke that it hasnt even been fixed yet - especially when they are a huge company and have limitless resources at their disposal in terms of programmers and tech specialists. Hopefully not much longer though (y)
Change it in Printify or in Shopify? I can't do it in Shopify because quantity is greyed out, so I assume they mean in Printify. Did it work?
Go to the product section in Shopify, choose those products having a sold-out problem, select the bulk edit option, then a new table will open. Go to the column button, select the ‘stock at’ option, select and drag to all variants of it, change it to multiple locations, and save. Then again, change it back to the previous setting to remove the sold-out option in Printify.”
When I make them stock multiple locations all items become available (but you can't check out) then when I switch them back to printify they all just go back to sold out. So this solution at least for me is a waste of time having tried it 3-4 times. At this point I am just going to investigate another vendor it will be a huge pain moving/redoing all my items but if I can expect 3+ days down time with printify they are not an acceptable choice for vendor. I get 24-48 hours it happens but over 3 days into 4 with no end in sight is unacceptable.
In shopify.
You need to go to the products affected under the products tab, tick all the products, click bulk edit and then at the tip you will find 'track quantity'. Make sure that is ticked for all your products.
Then - go to inventory which is the 3rd section down within 'products' and you should be able to edit quantities.
So - if the track quantity isn't ticked under the products tab then you won't be able to edit quantities under inventory which is under products section.
Hope this helps. If it doesn't - I don't mind doing a screen recording and sending you a video to help explain.
GUYS I THINK ITS BEEN FIXED!!! I JUST WENT TO PUBLISH A NEW LISTING AND THE SOLD OUT ISSUE ISN'T THERE AND I ALSO HAVENT HAD TO EDIT QUANTITIES.. THIS IS THE FIRST TIME THIS HAS EVER HAPPENED SO I'M 99% SURE THE PROBLEM HAS BEEN FIXED NOW.
Is there any word on this being resolved? My items still show "sold out". I am in my trial period and this does not look good. Can you link other print on demand stores to Shopify?
It still isn't fixed for me. I am so tired of manually adjusting the inventory of every single variation, especially since I don't even know if they will actually be in stock when someone goes to order. I am just making up numbers.
Not sure if this actually fixed it but I categorized my product into "clothing & tops" then it went to being in stock. Not sure if this fixed it or if it fixed itself during the time it took me to do this.
Hey guys, I was having issues with my items showing Sold Out even though my inventory was fully stocked. By the way a Shopify representative could not help me fix it so I dug up the entire settings clicking on everything lol. You might have a different issues but here is what solved mine. I went to Settings then I clicked on shipping and delivery. Next I clicked on General Shipping Rates after that scroll down to fulfillment Locations and check all of them and click Save. That’s where my problem was. They were not checked. Now preview your store to see if the sold out went away. I hope this help you.
