I have a domain registered with godaddy. I have updated the DNS records (A record and CNAME www) with the relevant Shopify values. However when I try to connect the domain to my shopify store, I get an error "A site with that domain name already exists" . Can someone from Shopify please help? I have been trying to go through your support portal but havent been able to figure out how do I get in touch with shopify support directly. Hence am using the community channel. I can provide proof of ownership of the domain

You should contact support directly, and they can look into the account. Contact page link: https://help.shopify.com/en/questions#/contact/

If the link keeps redirecting to the home page, try opening the link in Chrome Incognito mode.

Hi, @maadicare

Welcome to the Shopify Community. Sorry to hear you've been having trouble connecting your domain name to your store, as well as contacting our Support team. I'd be happy to help.

In order to resolve this issue, you will need to speak with our Support team directly, as @Nick_Marketing mentioned. We're not able to provide account-specific support via the Community at this time.

To reach our Support team, follow the link to our Contact page, login to your store, search for the issue you need help with, for example "domain name error" then look for the option to Continue to get support. From there, you'll be able to speak with our team via live chat, email or callback request. Our team will be happy to look into this issue with you and help get it resolved as soon as possible.

Let us know how this goes!
