Are dynamic sources available on the index template?

I'm trying to using the "Rich Text" block in Dawn for some promotional content. I can see my metafield on the product, collection, page templates but I can't see it on the index template.

Are dynamic sources supported here? How do I get it to appear?

Hi, you can't directly show that meta-field you need to give the reference of product object that you can access that on index  like {{product.metafield.custom.metaname}}
you need to get that product object then you can show.
 
if you are not using any product or collection base metafield then you can use MetaObjects those you can access anywhere!

Thank you for your reply. I understand how liquid and metafields work. I'm specially asking about dynamic sources in the theme editor in the index template. What would you do in that case?

I'm trying to find an answer to this question right now. Did you ever figure it out?

It seems like the index has no access to any dynamic sources except the built-in

{{ shop.brand.slogan }} and {{ 

shop.brand.short_description }}

It would be handy if you could create metafields on the shop object, then maybe I could access it as a dynamic source, but this doesn't appear to be a feature.
