Assigning the number of available products to one variable

Hello

I run a small clothing brand, I operate in the form of drops and so far, after the day of sale, I simply counted how many specific T-shirts I need to order, I print the designs myself, so I do not order specific prints, but clean T-shirts. I will now be changing wholesalers to sewing factories and I have to order clothes in advance.

I was wondering if it was possible to somehow assign all the T-shirts to one specific variable, for example

I have 100 T-shirts in stock, there is a sale day and I would like the products to sell until the blank T-shirts run out. If possible, I want to avoid estimating expected sales and setting specific quantities for given products.

I'll be glad if someone could help me 🙂

Hi there, @LustofHeaven. Thanks for taking the time to reach out to the Shopify Community here with your questions around your product drops. My name is Imogen. It's good to meet you!

Based on what you've described, it sounds like what you're trying to do is sell a finite amount of shirts (so 100 shirts) until you run out of stock. You should be able to do this by creating the product within your Shopify admin, and then assigning 100 units of inventory to that specific product. I fear this may be a gross oversimplification of what you're looking to do, but based on the information you've provided, I feel this should help you achieve your goal.

Are these 100 blank t-shirts also being used for other products, or specifically for these dropped products? Is the goal here to have your blank t-shirt inventory apply to multiple products so when all the t-shirts are purchased across all the products that use them, products will then no longer be available for purchase?

Yep you are right, lets say ive got 100 blank tshirts, on the website i offer few designs that i print by myself after people make the orders, till now ive been ordering pre-made blanks so i didnt have to track the inventory.

My english is not the best so ill try to describe it this way, to simplify lets say i only have 1 size

amount of blanks: 100

offered products:

- tshirt 1

- tshirt 2

- tshirt 3

I want the stock of those 3 products to be assignted to avaliable amount of blank tshirts and after selling 100 of them to make them sold out

Really appriciate that you want to help 🙂

Hey, @LustofHeaven.

Thanks for the additional context.

Looking into this, it is possible to have different products using a shared inventory using the Shopify Bundles app here. The inventory is updated in real-time, so you’re protected from overselling. Additionally, we do have a step-by-step guide that goes into depth about creating bundles with the application.

Let us know what you think.

Hi @LustofHeaven,

The Easify Inventory Sync app might be just what you need. It lets you create an inventory group for products that share the same stock. You can set a common inventory level for all the products in that group (e.g., 100), and when any product in the group is purchased, the inventory for all other products in the group is automatically updated. I hope you give the app a try! Feel free to reach out if you need any help with the setup.
